No glamour ties but hopefully that means there should be in the latter stages. Plus, you get the same amount of money for every point you get, wether it's against Lens or Real Madrid, so from a financial perspective it's pretty close to ideal for the club.

That's not how it works though, man.

I just think the CL is overstated. The groups are largely shite and if you win a relatively poor group and get a decent draw of a second place team you're already in the quarters.

True, but I think he’s half right in what he says. The group stages are full of shit, there’s no reason on paper why we can’t win that group easily. And the only teams I wouldn’t fancy us against are city and Bayern. But then there’s also the Arteta factor, at the moment the guy is making us play with a blindfold and one arm tied behind our back, it’s why I fancy us to lose to United on Sunday. That plus we don’t have European pedigree. But I guess it just demonstrates the difference between can and will, can we actually challenge to win the European cup? Yeah I genuinely think we can. Whatever we think of some of our players we have one of the most valuable squads in world football and the Scotsman is right that a lot of even the big European clubs are shit. Will we? No probably not

Shame I can’t do Wednesdays, as wouldn’t mind going to one of those games .

Used to quite like going to European fixtures mid week. Was at the Emirates the last time we played Sevilla at home (3-0 win - Fabregas, Van Persie and Eduardo goalscorers) and watched us play PSV a long time ago (group stage game when were still at Highbury 1-0 win…Alex og).

Last time went to watch European fixture was against Atletico Madrid less than a week after Wenger announced he was going.

Disagree, purely for personal reasons. Don’t get back in till 7 on Wednesdays so no chance of me going down to London for a game :lol:. Then again my only chance of a ticket is going to the online touts on twitter (though Mac would have to explain whether the new ticketing scanning system means can’t do that anymore).
