Big game really in the context of the group. Definitely need to give a better account of ourselves after that shit show at Lens.
Would like to see Ramsdale in for this but I guess that’s unlikely.

no chance, we're all sailing on the good ship Raya for the foreseen future

Raya is the epitome of how stats are misleading and ultimately meaningless. Numbers can’t change what you see with your own eyes, and what I see with my own eyes is that he’s shit….he’s playing at a level he’s not competent to be playing at and it shows

Tomiyasu in for Zinchenko (which I guess is an improvement of sorts) otherwise unchanged from Saturday. Arteta doesn’t really get the concept of picking a side dependent on who the opponent does he. He’s like I’ll do that once in a blue moon and if it works I’ll play the same team again

it's more of an improvement than 'of sorts' - Zin is a ticking time bomb so for Arteta to leave him out is really positive, OK Tomi isn't ideal at LB but he's not as much of a disaster area

Disagree. Tomiyasu is better defensively but still too slow to be of any real use, and any (albeit slight) attacking advantage Zinchenko gives us is nullified so it’s kind of like for like in my eyes

Tomi wil be more disciplined in the LB position plus he doesn't give the ball away in EVERY game in a dangerous position like Zin does - so it's as much an absence of a very big negative as much as anything

Great effort from Tomi there who used his pace to get forward and have a shot :haha:

Martinelli should've scored a couple of minutes ago.

What pace?
He showed really quick movement to get the shot away sharply - it also contradicts what you said about his not having any attacking threat

The player that has two assists to his name for his entire time here
He does this constantly, he has one foray forward per game it’s usually either off target or straight at the keeper and that’s it
Don’t get me wrong it’s the lack of pace he has up against a winger and his right footedness that are the real issue

Raya doing his best to set up a chance for Sevilla at the moment
Mac76
24-10-2023, 07:21 PM
Raya aside I think we've started reasonably OK, not enough goal threat but we look composed and are in the game

Sevilla should have scored then, another huge Raya fuckup - Arteta's got to get him off the pitch

I don’t get this, getting the goalkeeper to play out from the back when he’s clearly no good at it. It’s almost as bad as when Good Ebening was trying to get Petr Cech to do it

Bruno Fernandes, maybe
Everything that's wrong with modern day footballers.

even if he is pretending so what, he gets kicked a lot and if the other team has won the ball, why not go down and give yourself and your team a chance to get their breath back and organise?

Any one noticed how shite we are at throw ins. Literally no one shows for it. We actually give the ball away more on throw ins than any other pattern of play. It's atrocious coaching.

Grown men pretending to be injured is a fuckin embarrassment and they should be sent off for it.

 I expect he did feel some pain, maybe he could carry on but any tactical element aside, it's actually very sensible to take a breath and make sure you're ok, otherwise that's how a bigger injury can occur

Tough watch this, man.
Jorginho offers absolutely fuck all. Just constant basic passes.
Get him off and get Viera or Havertz on. Rice into DM where he isn't as shite as he is in CM.
Sakashit off for anyone.

Tomi's been so much better than Zin would have been, linking up well with our forward players but also defending well, looking really sharp - he's a much more intelligent footballer than Zin IMO, I think he's underrated, hopefully this change will be permanent

Good performance from Tomi, hopefully enough to get him a start at the weekend but Raya needs to be on the bench next game

Wouldn’t go as far as to call them a decent side. I think we lucked out in the draw and we’d be on 9 points now if we hadn’t played silly buggers against Lens. Sevilla were a decent side but now they are a team full of average players and ageing former stars

Excellent win, sets us up nicely to qualify now barring some disastrous home performances.
Super finish from Jesus, wish he’d bring his CL form to the PL…

Agree with this.
He was excellent tonight.
...maybe not excellent but compared to Zinchenko he was like God himself.
Thought him and Saliba were the best players for us tonight.

I think the gratifying thing about last night is that it just simplifies things for us. We win our next two games and we finish top of the group no matter what. Given the fuck up against Lens, that’s a reasonably good place to be in.
Now as I’ve said we lucked out in the draw, I think we got a very easy group but that always comes with the caveat that we do make things harder for ourselves then they need to be. At this point I consider Lens to be the bigger game than Sevilla as I think Sevilla will feel they have to go for it and we will tear them apart like wet tissue paper. But I think Lens may be stubborn and look to hit us on the break.
Mac76

I'd back us to win those last two games if we start with Ram and Tomi
