United have a goal ruled out after a lengthy review

Surely a rule of thumb ought to be that if it takes that long to decide whether a goal should be given, it’s not a clear and obvious error. Don’t get me wrong funny as fuck that it’s happened to United…but this should be a standard principle throughout the game

Maguire has a problem says Darren Fletcher.

My thought in response, he's shit.

But he's off for a concussion I think.

VAR heavily involved today

It just now wiped off Dunk’s equaliser for Brighton

And had a good long look at Bowen’s goal for the Ammers before finally giving it

1st defeat of the season isn't terrible anyway.

What we do after matters though, has to be 5 wins in a row at least.

1st defeat of the season isn't terrible anyway.

What we do after matters though, has to be 5 wins in a row at least.

It is (was) in the context of losing ground on other teams. Do I think having played 11 games and losing only the once is terrible in of itself (no I’d agree it isn’t). But in a broader context we’ve lost three in seven. And whilst that’s not parachutes on emergency, it is a red emergency warning light.

We’ve got Sevilla and Burnley at home next I’m reasonably confident we will win both of those games and after that we have a two week break after which we should hopefully have some players back fit.

But yeah importantly we’ve got lucky that we are still in the top four. Hopefully we won’t be five points behind Spurs by this time tomorrow

So second Chelsea goal ruled out

Romero not content with getting away with one act of thuggishness commits another and this time is punished

Chelsea get a penalty

Palmer tucks it away for 1-1

The Dutch defender Van der Wen does his hamstring. Spurs now without either first team defender

Hate to admit it, but I was impressed with Postecoglou's post-match interview. It was a lot more dignified than Arteta's hissy fit!

HCZ_Reborn
07-11-2023, 09:32 AM
I like him personally but there’s no question he had no complaints. Udogie and Romero were in fact both lucky not to have been sent off earlier than they were. They as a team completely lost their heads and I’d be ashamed of the complete indiscipline if that was Arsenal.
I’d be interested to see how this equanimity holds out if something really goes against spurs that is a bit controversial. Postecoglou had a reputation for being a tad combustible when he was manager of Celtic, could get very irritable with journalists.

I was so relieved to see that result, was getting really worried about them having an unbeaten title-winning season...

hopefully now the bubble has burst they will collapse - it helps that one of their players is out for three matches and another for a match

That was never going to happen, but I must admit I'd started to get a bit worried about them.
Let's hope the wheels properly fall off now.
