Typical Neverton, the rare time it would be good for them to get a result they commit suicide

All depends, they are facing the possibility of another six point deduction. But if it happens to them it will almost certainly also happen to Forest.

I kind of feel sorry for Luton, the results haven’t been happening for them even though they really go for it in games.

Burnley and Sheffield United are fucked and they know it, the trap door looms for one of the three I’ve mentioned. Everton don’t help themselves, they outplayed the Ammers and contrived to lose…and if honest i do find myself agreeing with Letters that this is a club that has spent years circling the drain.

I have no particular affection for the club itself, and Goodison Park is a toilet. My justification for wanting Everton to stay up is purely that I think having two premier league clubs is good for city of Liverpool. Saw the new stadium when I was up there at Xmas and it looks impressive (albeit could only see it from a distance). I don’t like Dyche anymore than you do, and they are a shit house team….but I feel bad for the fan base…the club has taken them for a ride.

If I didn’t like the city of Liverpool (and to be fair its inhabitants who are far friendlier than us southern cunts) I would regard Everton as a Bolton/Burnley and be glad to see the back of them.

Then again I lived in Stoke for a year, and I hated that club and its fans anyway :haha:

Bournemouth 0-1 Sheffield United, Hamer. Whoa.

Assuming this stays the same, and that would be foolish of me

This is what I call a reflex result. Teams that are long since dead in terms of survival get these flickers of movement.

Championship promotion race is interesting, all the contenders seem to be staggering around like drunks

Ipswich were leading 1-0 into injury time but lost to Cardiff 2-1

Must have been many years ago. In this day, you’d be having a very awkward conversation with HR

Experience tells me it wouldn’t be Alt Tab or whatever the fuck his name was that would complain anyway but some busy body on his behalf. I can’t prove it but I’m absolutely sure that’s what happened to me although it was also pretty thick of me to discuss a work based issue online but similarly it was absolutely fucking spiteful of them to decide to throw in a completely unrelated tweet into the formal disciplinary, for about four years after that I played it safe and never spoke about Trannies online, so you can get a gist of what they didn’t like (although actually now believing blokes with dicks aren’t women anymore is a protected belief so thank you Maya Forstater)

It was actually About this time, six years ago. Thus why I went on sabbatical for four years…I was told they were investigating me and I thought oh fuck…I’ve used this place at work delete delete delete.

Then frankly I forgot this place existed.

Dont get me wrong, as someone who believes stupidity should be punished….the ordeal (even though I got off with a warning after three months of thinking oh I’m fucked I’ll never get another job) did have a teaching effect to the point that I’m a bit more careful how I run my mouth.

Anyway my remark to you was largely flippant, but suddenly it brought it all back how absolutely absurd that situation was

Why I decided to go off and do counselling, I wanted to do it anyway but situations like that kind of remind you not to put shit off. I still work at the same place, but I’m a star pupil now. I don’t get paid for the counselling work, first because I’m working towards getting a masters and second because actually in the short term I prefer doing something like that because it’s what I want to do rather than a need for a wage

I dunno I don’t think there’s a great deal of difference between the title not being in our hands, and us needing to win at city to have it in our hands :haha:

Getting a draw there will be hard enough and other teams have done it this season.

Also I think it’s underestimated how difficult it will be for City to get a win at Anfield. They’ve lost one home game in the league in three years. And even under Pep they’ve won once there in seven. Bloody place is a fortress

It’s more of a “must not lose” than a “must win” but I see what you mean in terms of the confidence it would give us. A win there could be the thing which gives us the boost to get us over the line.

We aren’t going to win every game between now and the end of the season

I don’t think Liverpool are either…they struggled to put the ball in the net when they had city on the ropes

City might but they’ve got the best squad and experience of going on these kind of runs

The way I see it if we draw with city and win every other game and that’s still not enough….well fuck our luck

I think City have the more favourable fixtures.

We’ve definitely got the trickiest.

I just want to see an Arsenal team go to the Etihad and not shit itself. Not looking beyond that because it’s such a graveyard fixture for us.

Hmmm

Liverpool - Brighton (H), Tottenham (H), Fulham (A), Palace (H), West Ham (A), Villa (A), Wolves (H), Sheffield United (H), Everton (A), Man United (A),

City - Brighton (A), Tottenham (A), Arsenal (H), Fulham (A), Palace (A), West Ham (H), Villa (H), Wolves (H), Forest (A),

Luton (H),

I don’t think there’s a lot in it but I think I’d just about rather have City’s matches

There's really not much in it when the same teams crop up numerous times.

Anyway, we have the chance to make it irrelevant which is all you can ask for.

Experience tells me it wouldn’t be Alt Tab or whatever the fuck his name was that would complain anyway but some busy body on his behalf.
I do have a story where that happened to me, actually.

I was on a work trip to India. At the entrance to the offices there was a noticeboard where they put the names of various visiting important people.
We turned up on the first day and noted they hadn't put our names there. Which was fine with me, we were visiting but we weren't important. I don't actually need validation from a noticeboard. Anyway, a colleague jokingly complained and when we got back from lunch there were our names! I took a picture and put it on FB with a comment something like "I feel validated by this". I'm jolly funny on FB, you know. Honestly, you're missing out.
Cut to a couple of days later when we visited again and, as expected, our names weren't there. So I took a photo and chucked that on FB with a comment something like "Well, screw you guys then!". It was a pretty obvious joke.

Next thing I know I have my line manager contacting me telling me someone had complained. After a bit of digging it turned out to be someone who
a) Didn't work in India
b) Wasn't FB friends with me.
It wasn't even a "lost in translation" thing in terms of language or culture and different sense of humours. It was some English bloke.
As you said, a busybody.

Nothing much came of it. HR certainly didn't get involved. I may have deleted the second post to avoid a scene. I can't remember if I had to "apologise" to anyone.
It was all complete bullshit. Some people seem so desperate to be offended by everything these days.

Sorry to hear about your experience. It sounds equally nonsensical.
I keep my FB profile public so I don't say anything stupid - I know anyone could potentially see it, so that keeps me honest. But you can't do much about the terminally offended.

Never a pelanty.

I agree. The whole world and his wife seem to think it was nailed on. I really don't see it that way, he got the ball.
I'd have been fuming had a penalty been given against us for that.

'Screw you' is a bit strong though isn't it, it's basically a.slightly less rude way of saying f--- you. you'd probably have been fine if you'd said something lighter like 'it seems we're no longer important!' or suchlike

Regardless the reaction is always over the top. It’s always worse in the public sector as well, it’s so cynical and it’s just arse covering (or back side covering if you think arse is too strong).

Of course there’s nothing you can do to help the terminally stupid, I know of more than one example of people being fired for making jokes perceived as racist, sexist, homophobic etc. Now looking past the fact that I don’t believe anything should be considered out of bounds in terms of humour. What kind of idiot makes these jokes in a professional setting or a work based what’s app group.

If people like that end up losing their job (especially if they are in senior positions) I have to say I’ve no sympathy whatsoever. It was stupid enough of me ever to visit this place using a work computer, but this is another level.

On a similar subject, my brother was given the work laptop for a terminated senior manager for whom he’s had to replace (dead man’s shoes) and whilst I don’t think that was the reason for him being fired….the guys laptop was full of porn. I don’t know…why on earth would you watch porn on a company laptop.

I actually can't remember if that's exactly what I said.
It is the sort of thing I can imagine myself saying though. And there's a clear difference between the two words.
And, as always, context is important. And the context was the previous FB post. It was clearly a joke.
And my main point was no-one in the team I was meeting was offended. It was some busy-body who I'm not even FB friends with who decided it was ever so offensive on his behalf.

I'd have been fuming had a penalty been given against us for that.

The question you have to always ask is, is that given as a foul outside the box? And I think it is

The intent is to get the ball no question, but no question looking at his and McAllister’s momentum he’s not clearing that ball with his leg/boot without making contact with McAllister which he does.

Possibly a bit harsh if it’s given, but if you look at where the ball is, McAllister either has to cushion the ball with his head to bring it down and control it with his feet. There’s just not the space and time for him to do that, and Doku can use his body to block. So then the question comes is it a necessary interception?

I’d absolutely be fuming if a penalty was given against us for it as well, but there’s no way I’d expect VAR to overturn it if the referee had given it

Probably true, but a mate tried to compare it to De Jong in 2010 which is clearly bullshit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSN6t9_A82A

De Jong is nowhere near the ball and makes no attempt to play it. He should have been sent off.
Doku not only attempted to play the ball he did play the ball.
Now, fine, he caught the player too and one could argue it's reckless. It's definitely high foot and would generally be given as a foul. BUT...I don't think it was a clear and obvious error which is why VAR didn't overturn it and I think rightly so.

On another day a pel could have been given and I agree VAR wouldn't have overturned it the other way either for the same reason. I'm just not seeing it as the stonewall penalty some people are claiming. I also note that Liverpool fans who are crying are forgetting that not long earlier City hit the post and but for a very kind rebound in to the 'keepers arms they could have lost it. So, overall, shut yer yaps you whining Scousers.

I can't really bring myself to care that much, because I can't really bring myself to care that much about football in general anymore, but I can't see how studs to a chest isn't a nailed on foul, in any situation.
He did touch the ball, but only after MacAllister got there first, so I'd argue he didn't "get the ball" but in any case, whether he got the ball or not is completely moo when it comes to reckless/dangerous/endangering the opponent or whatever its called. The same as there being no "intent".... it doesn't matter. That's not the rule.

I think a draw was ultimately fair, as frenetic as it was it wasn't the two teams at their best at all. Both had good chances, both missed good chances. I still think all 3 teams are gonna drop points in the last 10 (?) games.

I'm not entirely sure why but I'm developing an irrational dislike of Foden. And I actually can't explain it as there's nothing to actively dislike, and he is obviously a very very very good footballer. At least my loathing of Pickford, Richarlison and Walker are based on something. Anyhoo...

Yep at earliest it’s going to be week of April 22nd, likely to have our match with Wolves re-scheduled as well as unless they shit the bed against Coventry they will be playing fa cup semi final the weekend when our league fixture is scheduled

That most likely will be played week of May 13th just after we’ve been to Old Trafford

I don’t think we are going to have many easy games from now till the end of the season

Spurs are going to want to stop us winning the title, United and Villa going for top four

Luton and Everton battling to stay in the league (and the latter is our final league game of the season)
