No Rodri and No De Bruyne is a game changer, or at least it should be for any side that has the balls to take the game to City (although granted no Isaak is sub optimal).

Also why is Foden on the bench, has he displeased Ming the Merciless

Don’t get me wrong, whilst I still expect City to be too good for the majority of premier league teams they play. I think games like this where they struggle to create chances may be more commonplace than they have been in recent years.

I’d say after five games, If we get our front six firing (and that’s by no means a certainty) we are the best placed team to profit from this.

I have a lot of differences with Arteta, but I’m happy to concede that he’s given us some steel

Exactly. I think they will finish top four reasonably easily, but beyond that…not seen anything that makes me think they’ll start making any waves

Chelsea are the ones worrying me, not because I think they will be title challengers but because they are a scumbag club and I want to see them rot in mid table or better still be relegated

Chelsea is a circus but their squad is actually pretty stacked. Which is the least you’d expect after spending a billion. I can see them finishing 4th and in Palmer they have a serious talent.

I think there’s this stubborn streak in United where they don’t want to be like Chelsea, sacking their coach at the drop of a hat. In terms of transfers they’ve mirrored us, in that when Wenger first went the object was to bring in that one marquee player that would get them into the champions league. Now it’s a mixture of trying to bring in young unknown players and rebuild the defence.

With Ten Haag the problem is, there’s no philosophy. Two years he’s been there and there isn’t a style of football that the team has adopted. I don’t think the squad they’ve got is terrible…it doesn’t help that their attacking players are all youngsters who are not going to be consistent goalscorers…I think Garnacho, Hojlund and Zirkzee are all decent players but a lot being put on them to get goals.

I don’t think Mazraoui or De Ligt were bad signings either and even Onana has begun to settle and looks more assured between the sticks. But it’s not a team, there’s no identity there…and that falls on Ten Haag’s shoulders
