Happy days.

If we made the final our game against Chelsea would be postponed to.... some time.

Also it's an international break immediately after it which would be a bit strange.

We really need Liverpool to win, the mere thought of losing to Spuds in a final isn't something I want to spend weeks worrying about if we get past Newcastle

Very glass half empty . Seriously though as someone who is hopelessly negative, of course I understand

Still though part of me wouldn’t mind playing them in a final, no risk no reward.

Beating them in a final would be a sweet prospect

I would much rather have played the scum in the semi final rather than the prospect of playing them in the final. Don't forget, Ange always wins something in his second year

No, the potential consequences of a defeat would take any fun out of it in advance and on the day - winning would simply be a relief

ok if it was a 5-0 walkover that might be fun but we all know it wouldn't be

Obviously I don’t want to lose to them or any other team in any game, let alone a final. But going back to the 2019 Champions League final…at no point did I even entertain the thought that they might win it, I was mainly disappointed with them getting there because I wanted Ajax to get to the final and beat Liverpool.

I never especially take them seriously, or even really think about them at all apart from in relation to how a result for them will affect us. For me they had six-seven years of finishing above us in the league and what did it get them? Nothing. I don’t see them ever eclipsing us in my lifetime.

If we got them in the final (assuming we get there), I’d feel no greater sense of trepidation than if we were playing Liverpool. The only difference I think is that I’d be more confident of winning

The night the spuds beat Ajax was on my birthday. Watching the game in a pub and my joy at 2-0 to Ajax turned into dismay. I spent the next three weeks praying those fuckers didn't win it. Thankfully, the Scousers saved the day.

Honestly apart from being slightly irritated on the night, I don’t think I gave it any further thought

I did agonise over the Bayern-Chelsea game in 2012, the difference being I guess that I thought Chelsea had a realistic chance of winning

I still think Klopp should have a statue outside the Emirates for saving us from the Apocalypse
