ARSENE WENGER is considering a shock move to bring club legend Dennis Bergkamp back to Arsenal.

The Gunners boss has been urged find a role for Bergkamp, who has let it be known he would consider a return to the club.

Manchester City have shown the benefits of employing another former Arsenal great, Patrick Vieira, as their football development executive.

And there is a growing feeling at the Emirates that Wenger should sign up the Dutch- man for a similar role.

Such a move would give a huge boost to the north Londoners, who lie fourth-bottom in the Premier League following a shocking start to the season.

The hugely respected Bergkamp is currently assistant to Frank de Boer at Ajax, the club where he made his name.

Aged 42, he spent 11 brilliant years at Arsenal between 1995 and 2006.

Two years ago Bergkamp spoke of his desire to return to the Premier League.

“I wouldn’t rule out (working for Arsenal),” said the striker. “I really love this club and the country.

“I want to work and train a team in England. Not as a head coach, but, instead, as a member of staff, where I could work specifically with the strikers.”

It has been also suggested Arsenal – who face Bolton at home tomorrow – could appoint a director of football to help Wenger with his workload.

But that idea has been dismissed by chairman Peter Hill-Wood.

“Arsene has got a very good relationship with (chief executive) Ivan Gazidis and they get on very well and talk a great deal,” he said.

“There is absolutely no chance of bringing in a director of football. That is a lot of nonsense.”

Why would a winner take a punt on the club with a stubborn, spent Manager

Just like Kevin Keegan at Toon :scarf: oh.
Would he make sure we don't qualify for Europe or would Pat stay on to administrate the BA method for those pesky away leg flights :ninja:

It's such an obvious no-brainer that it will almost certainly not happen under current regime. Shame.
