Weirdly i fooking hate Bob Marley so there is no danger of that, travel agent told us straight away not to go to Jamaica or Dominica unless we want to get hassled by beach dwelling urchins selling fruit.

Seems Antigua or St Lucia is most likely at the moment. Mexico was first choice but you have to pay....£1300 to have your licenses translated from mexican/spanish

The two times I've been were late Jan/early Feb which was a lovely time of year to go.
Nice and hot, but not too hot, and no hurricaines.
Both times I've been on cruises so not stayed anywhere, just day trips to various places.

The first one I went to St Thomas and St Maartin which are beautiful islands. Probably not enough to do for a week but nice for a day trip. We also went to Nassau in the Bahamas which didn't impress me even for a day although I've heard other parts of the Bahamas are nice.

The second one we went to Labadee, Haiti which is a peninsula owned by Royal Caribbean and is beautiful. We went to Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico and saw some of the Mayan stuff which was quite interesting although the places were generally a bit flat and uninteresting [add your own MrsL joke here].

The cruises were brilliant. Went on Oasis and Allure of the seas which are the largest ships in the world and absolutely incredible. The shows and food on board are fantastic and the ships are so big you never get bored, loads to do.

I've never spent a week in one place there so if you're looking at that sort of thing then I can't help.

thanks mate.

The weird thing is that honeymoon, adults only resorts dont have a lot to do as i guess they think you will just be shagging all the time. After 15 years together we will need other stuff to do, snorkelling and diving for me (stop it) spa, sauna like stuffs for the boss.

Annoying websites/brochures and travel agents aside its quite good fun as i have never booked a holiday before

I've no idea what happened today. I had an email from Ticketmaster, I'm always getting those. It said something about Olympics tickets still being available and despite looking loads of times and being frustrated I thought I'd have another look and they claimed to have loads of Athletics. Had quite a few attempts where it put them in my basket and then said there weren't any (presumably not at the price I was trying and not 2 tickets) but then I got some for Friday evening, 10th:

Men's Pole Vault Final
Women's 4 x 400m Relay Round 1
Men's Decathlon Victory Ceremony
Women's Hammer Throw Final
Men's 4 x 100m Relay Round 1
Women's 5000m Final
Women's Javelin Throw Victory Ceremony
Women's 4 x 100m Relay Final
Women's 1500m Final
Women's 5000m Victory Ceremony
Men's 4 x 400m Relay Final
Women's Hammer Throw Victory Ceremony

Right! Banned a couple of people from the RvP thread. Hopefully that'll help a bit.

What a load of bollocks, I wasn't abusive, I didn't criticise another poster for his point of view, I was just expressing an opinion on a football related matter. Your action is somewhat hypocritical considering the Wummish posts you've made in the last few months, especially against anyone who criticises Wenger. The same with a few select other posters who pick on people like Zim, abuse him and try to steer the discussion off topic by either posting irrelevant pictures or by misrepresenting his opinion (for example, there's someone who keeps bringing up Wenger not drinking with other managers, as if this is the main criticism the Wenger sceptics have of him).

If you also took a stand against people who try to stamp down on criticism of Wenger, then fair enough, but somehow I don't think so.

Yes, no WUMming there then.

I said he would be 100 times worse than Nasri if he stayed after saying "it's not about money" in that statement of his. By staying, he's effectively admitted that it IS about money, and his actions would betray hypocrisy. At least with Nasri he said he would leave for trophies and ambition, and subsequently did so.

It's certainly 'a' problem (one I don't have the expertise to fix, I understand a lot of Google rank is about incoming links but I don't know how to generate those). I don't think it's 'the' problem. Our Google rank has always been crap and it didn't stop the board growing - but we initially had a lot of people come from 606 and that created a core group of users. As those have left/got a life/sulked off/committed suicide we've not attracted new posters and the place has slowly gone downhill.

Google rank may be a way of people finding the place and attracting new members but it's not the only way. I am going to try some FB ads. Most people are on here because they knew people who already were, word of mouth has always been the way most people have found the place.

There was an article someone posted a while back which said goonersweb was one the most viewed sites in the civil service. Maybe the increase in foul language, particularly having the word 'shit' in a thread title has blocked some from coming on to the site? Not suggesting we should all behave ourselves and lose the pub team decorum of the forum but just offering a possible explanation.

Best to judge when the season kicks off and we've lost a game. Or possibly the day when van persie gets sold to man city. That's when the messageboard season kicks off.
