Have you heard of a place in your ends called Thai Edge? It's along the high street in Edgeware IIRC.

Not strictly Chinese but more of a fusion with Thai cuisine, but they have some of your standard Chinese dishes too.

It's all you can eat and you order from the menu so everything is brought out fresh, unlike your normal buffet. Little bit top quality.

If you can't be sexist on a message board with a thin facade of anonymity i ask where can you be?

What i mainly take exception to is the self-censuring that takes place so as to avoid a trip to the disciplinary panel, and yet the midget on my team who talks about her rancid sex life whether we want to hear it or not has a gawdy peter andre calender festooned above her desk.

I'm afraid not.

I understand some may find it offensive, so some of the worse words were auto-corrected, but people complained about that. I'm easy either way.

What isn't acceptable however, is the usage of language that is personally abusive to another poster. The context in which the language is used is more important than the individual words themselves.

That said, some may not like that and it could be a dealbreaker. I hope it isn't for you because it is good to have you back.

You know what, I don't have Sky, and I have absolutely no need for it either.

People could list the shit I could watch, over and over, and I could honestly say, I'm really not jealous....I mean, stuff I miss out on that's good...I can buy in a year for half the price of a months subscription.

Same here, ditched Sky. Don't miss it a bit. Steal everything I need from streams, the rest wasn't worth watching anyway. Films I get from pirate sites, same with TV shows I want to watch (few and far between). Even the pirate stuff is HD these days :-)

They could also get in trouble for constantly emailing me to "Come back to Sky" - Same 50% off plus an offer to suck my dick (at least that's how I read it). I'm thinking of going down there and punching them in the balls if they keep spamming me.

Letters

Innit.

I have a 3 bed maisonette above a shop which has pretty much doubled in price in the 13 years I've been there.
For what it's worth now we could buy MrsL's parents' place in MK which is a 4 bed detached place.

But then we'd have to live in Milton Keynes <_<

Marc Overmars
09-10-2014, 04:01 PM
In fairness MK is a pretty nice place for couples and families, I wouldn't be totally adverse to settling down there at some point in the future.

I would like to buy my own place in London though now I'm earning enough, sick of renting and lining the pockets of the landlord. Been looking around Mill Hill and some of the 2 beds there are twice as much as 3-4 beds in MK. Wondering if it might even be worth buying in MK and commuting.

Buy in MK and rent it out.

Then carry on renting in London.

You may be paying a slight premium on rent for working in London, but you save on the commute, whilst investing in a future home.

Letters

MK is a pretty nice place actually, don't think I'd want to live that far out though.
In terms of time, when I used to go and stay at MrsL's before we were married I'd come straight in to work on a Monday morning and with a lift to the station it didn't take loads longer than my morning commute now from the edge of London.
Bloody expensive season ticket though, would be over £4000 a year.

LDG
09-10-2014, 04:22 PM
I'm bloody lucky at the moment I reckon. Got the best of all worlds living and working where I am.

Affordable house just outside a "mini-London" in terms of house prices. 40 minute commute through nice country roads. Work in the middle of the countryside with deer roaming the office grounds.

And I'm still only 1hr from London by train.

I work near Victoria so it would be a simple commute. MK to Euston in 35mins, then another 10mins on the Victoria Line. At the moment I'm spending half n hour anyway coming from Perivale. I think my company can provide me with a season ticket, with a % coming out of my payslip every month.

Just as I posted I was thinking that so yes. Probably will be around. Apparently FB is blocked there but I think you can access it from our office out there, or something.
In brief: will probably end up in whatever the Chinese equivalent of the Gulag is having caused a massive diplomatic incident.

I think WMUG posted from there didn't he?

It was blocked briefly, but I think that was just by a guy booting me off for a while to fill a quota, it was back within half an hour.

Also, I was using a tunnel a lot of the time, so it didn't really matter what was blocked and wasn't. Try Zenmate if you're getting blocked.

Dear Lord. There is a girl who works in my team who has just returned from maternity leave.

Fat (grossly so), ugly and is quite clearly the most miserable bitch in the whole wide world. Honestly, the first thing she said to me was "I want my old chair back, as this one is too soft".

Fuck off.
