I'm not an Apple fanboy but their stuff is fine. I'm sure the Samsung stuff is too though.

I have loved the iphone and ipod.....and I'll probably end up getting the next iphone....but I kinda want to see what else is out there.

I just don't get why they're wasting their time on pencils and watches etc. There is a limit to what people will embrace after a while....I really can't see the watch thing lasting. People aren't going to phone people with it, and the display is too small to make it worth doing anything on. The one person I know who has one just uses it as a watch ffs.

They should just stick to what they do best.

GP
10-09-2015, 09:57 AM
The watch sales were really high for about 2 weeks. Once all the fanboys had bought one, there was no real lasting appeal.

Apple aren't the innovators that some would have you believe. I have an iPhone right now, does what it's supposed to do. There are some features I really like and the build quality is top notch (something Samsung is sorely lacking)

Might go back to Nokia next time tbh.

Marc Overmars

I've had an S4 for a while but I think I'll probably sell that soon and buy the new 6s, there's just something very simplistic about iOS that I like. I don't care a great deal for all the bells and whistles that come with phones these days and iPhones are actually quite stripped back compared to its competitors.

Niall_Quinn

Yep - boring. It's fashion tech designed to keep the revenue flowing but there hasn't been any real innovation since the iPad. The prices are ludicrous for what you get.

Have to say - in response to the accusation that each iPhone is basically the same - that I have an iPhone 5C (fanx, mum!) for personal use and then work (fanx, British Tax-payer) got me an iPhone 6 and it's loads better. I prefer the screen size and it's much slimmer and lighter.
The Samsungs are fine too but my impression is they're more for people who like to play around and modify their phones.

I think they may have milked it for as far as it will go. 14 years topping the charts is not bad at all. I wonder if they are planning a sequel. Netflix is promoting its latest science offering, Aliens on the Moon. I'm not 100% sure if the 11/9 audience are prepared to go that far just yet, buy-in could be as low as 99% but even so if you don't try then you don't get.

Not this old chestnut.

Let's say you want to have an atrocity in New York in 2001, killing large numbers of Americans so you can justify a war against Iraq, etc. So you what could you do? You could get aircraft and fly them into a building which you had previously laced with explosives which you detonate an hour or so after you have crashed the planes into the building. This takes a lot of people doing a lot of work setting it up in full view of the people of New York, requiring careful timing, etc. - a massive list of things that can go wrong and a lot of people you need to keep quiet. Or... You can get a large truck and fill it with explosives, drive it into the middle of New York, set a 5 minute timer and walk away. You get the same effect but you only need a couple of people to set it up and the task is totally simple.

What would you do? Obvious really. Also, the 'evidence' of the conspirators just does not stand up. It is total bollocks.

Now if you were to say that Bush took advantage of the 9/11 attack ,which had nothing to do with Sadam Hussein (who definitely would NOT want Al Qaeda to be around and would have destroyed them if he could since they would want his downfall too), using it as the excuse to then invade Iraq and get their oil back onto the world market to keep the price of petrol low - THAT is definitely a plausible claim.

None of this is the issue, it's the distraction. The issue is the US government lied about who was behind the attacks and how they were carried out. That much can be proven beyond reasonable doubt. It doesn't matter what other conspiracy theories crop up, they are irrelevant. The only conspiracy theory that matters is the one spun by the US government. It doesn't stand up to even the most basic scrutiny and the crime of 11/9 has yet to be investigated and those responsible brought to justice. That's an outrage that can't stand.

NQ who do you think was responsible

Do you believe that Atta, Jarah et al piloted these planes? (Given that Atta was overheard trying to talk to the passengers whilst trying to switch the plane transponder off). If you do believe that, do you think they were manipulated by another party despite Bin Laden appearing to take credit for these actions?.

Im not trying to scoff either, I genuinely want to know what you think. Whilst I firmly believe that this was an Al Queda organised and funded operation, and succeeded due to lax security on internal flights....I'm not so firm as to not be open to considering an alternative point of view.

It doesn't matter if Atta and Co piloted the planes. It matters who Atta was - the fact he's been reduced to some imbecilic parody of your stereotypical Muslim nutter is what's most revealing. Digging back into his history and finding out about the guy is important. All the methods that would be standard in a genuine investigation are what's important. Atta's just a name for a Warner Bros character now - you can call him anything and he remains the same ranting Paki, doesn't he?

Here's what all those offering an alternative conspiracy theory haven't figured out yet. They shouldn't be doing that! It's irrelevant and it's a trick used by those selling the official conspiracy theory. That's not how a real investigation works. You gather the evidence and piece together the motives, methods, money trail, persons of interest, and you verify and present the findings in a legal environment so justice can be served. None of this has happened. 6 of the 10 members on the farce that replaced a proper investigation don't believe their own findings! Nobody needs to talk about holographic planes and alien intervention (well not unless they are getting paid to do it). You just need to say hey, let's have an investigation because that thing you did proves absolutely nothing and can be knocked down by a feather.

The most dangerous aspect of this is the willingness of so many people to simply believe what they are told without looking. The official conspiracy theory is so ludicrous, so fundamentally flawed, so full of holes, and yet people just believe it - why? Because the government (proven to be liars time and time and time over) says so. And that's the critical issue at the heart of all of this. The peoples' willingness to be led by the nose by those who do not have their best interests (or any benign interest at all) at heart. The enemy. Always the same enemy. See posts related to Corbyn for more details.

But if I have to play. There were several Attas - all spotted at various high visibility locations, sometimes simultaneously, prior to 11/9. So which Atta do you mean?

Truth? No, prevailing evidence, very different. I'm referring to FBI official reports in relation to Atta(s) and his/ their whereabouts and actions. Perhaps your diligent research has unearthed fresh information that can enhance or discount the current evidence? Excellent, it would be interesting to hear it. Or are you one of the trendy enlightened majority who feels evidence is an unnecessary impediment in reaching the required conclusion?

You may have to wait until I've read through and fully digested the FBI official reports before I can give you a definitive answer, maybe I'll have time between the Dynamo Zagreb game and the Chavs on Saturday, seriously, you seem a passionate if somewhat verbose guy, publish the links to back up your theories or lighten up, the sun's shining, no-one important has died today and I'm willing to bet you won't go to bed tonight either cold or hungry.

They are not my theories. But I don't deny you have to read stuff. Not a chance on the link war thing - all the mainstream media is online and easy to find and there's Google. And books. Somebody asked for an opinion and I gave it, but I'm not playing the 11/9 game because it's way too involved and soaks time for no purpose. People don't want to hear it, for a variety of reasons I suppose, but I guess the latest anniversary gave it a poke. Plenty of people have died today as a result of 11/9.

First off I'm guessing your saying the hijackers were constructs, people given the identities belonging to someone else and the template liquidated?

Very similar claim made about Lee Harvey Oswald in the Oliver Stone film, where the name becomes a back story not a person

Well I'm not saying it. The families of the 7 "hijackers" still alive have said it, the FBI has admitted it probably has the wrong identities but has never taken any steps to correct things. So the names of the hijackers have gone down in short term history. We don't know who the actual individuals were but we have names and photos. The authorities believe this is enough.

Yes, big similarities with Oswald.

While there he met a “super nice” Chinese couple who said they’d like to practice their English, so he got talking to them and they asked if he’d like to go for a drink.
He said OK so they went for some tea and got some grapes and wine.
They got the bill and it was 3000 Yuan which is about £300!
They’d agreed to go halves so my colleague shelled out about £150 for some tea, grapes and wine!

Short for Ivysaur, I assume?

That's quite good because she's evolve in to Venusaur and can use Solar Blast.
Every week she fails to use Solar Blast will be another grounding - she's already racked up 3, and she's only a couple of days old.

Gotcha - no real food.

Fuckin Tory cunts scrapping the Maintenance grant for uni from next year

Was gonna go uni this year but had to defer it in the end, and now I can't get the grant. Fuck sake!

'It's okay, you can now take out a bigger loan'

You need to sign slavery terms with the banksters, like everyone else. The banksters feel entitled to a cut of your labour, that's why they put their Tories (Conservative or Labour, doesn't matter) in charge. That's why Corbyn is a threat to national security, because he's not part of the bankster club. Corbyn said he'd pay your tuition by making the mega rich pay more than £5.50 a year in tax. That's a clear threat to national security. He said he'd force the Bank of England to print money for the people of the country to use, rather than print money for the banksters to use. Clear threat to national security.

Can you work out what national security really means?

Well it's not an army or air force or navy, it's not the education of the kids of the nation, it's not the once public industries that make the country go like energy and transport and communications. It's the debt that can be raised on all those things - that's the real definition of national security. Not that anyone would ever admit the glaringly obvious.

So you need to take a deep breath and bend over and let the banksters have their way with you. Once raped you can then get an education and maybe get a job form which the banksters and their government heavies will not only extract payment on the debt but also an extra levy of around 50% in tax. Not much of a deal but that's the miracle of the modern economy for you.

I know man, it's a bloody joke.

It was worth about 3k a year too :/

I've spent the last few years in work and have always wanted to get back to it, but it's a downer as I didn't realise it at the time.

Might just commute to uni to save up really, 1.5 hour journey but it's way too much to live there as well

Just cannot be arsed to do any work this week.

Problem is. The lazier I get, the longer the day goes.

Not like when this place was buzzing and you could spend a day chatting crap and the day would fly by.

It was general chat that made it fun, no topic went undiscussed regardless of how trivial it was. I think I'd rather engage in a discussion about anything but Arsenal these days.

Yup. We had so many threads going, but then there was a big one that just went >>>> classic

Used to be about 20 people all posting at once too.

I miss those days :(

When you're nostalgic about nostalgia, does that mean you're old?

Or that GW is dead?

Or that Arsenal are proper shit?

Or that Wengcunt is a cunt?

No what are you going to do with it, hand it in at the police station, it's not a wallet full of personal effects it's cash that someone has carelessly dropped.
I'm been both the victim and benefactor of this, so it all balances out in the fullness of time.

A few years ago there would have been a massive thread when the sex robot story broke. Nobody even mentioned it on BW
