Draw has been made.
Federer plays Falla in the first round.Quote:
The draw for the Olympic Tennis Event took place on Thursday at The All England Club, Wimbledon ahead of the action getting under way on Saturday.
The No. 1 seed in the men's singles, Roger Federer, who won the doubles gold medal with Swiss teammate Stanislas Wawrinka in Beijing, will face Alejandro Falla in the opening round.
The two players have met five times and Federer is yet to be beaten, although the Colombian did take the 17-time Grand Slam champion to five sets at Wimbledon two years ago, and served for the match in the fourth set.
No. 2 seed Novak Djokovic, who won the singles bronze medal in Beijing, has been drawn against Fabio Fognini. The Serb leads their head-to-head series 2-1, including straight set wins in their last two meetings.
Andy Murray, seeded No. 3, is in the same half of the draw as Djokovic and has been handed a tough first round assignment against Stanislas Wawrinka, while No. 4 seed David Ferrer takes on Vasek Pospisil.
In the women's singles, the Williams sisters will both face difficult opponents in the first round. Serena, seeded No. 4, plays Jelena Jankovic and Venus faces No. 9 seed Sara Errani. Serena and Venus are two-time doubles gold medallists, while Venus also won the singles gold medal in Sydney.
Elsewhere, No.1 seed Victoria Azarenka is up against Irina-Camelia Begu, No. 2 seed Agnieszka Radwanska meets Julia Goerges and No. 3 seed Maria Sharapova plays Sharar Peer.
In total, 44 countries are being represented at The All England Club. There is a 64-draw for the men’s and women’s singles, with 16 players seeded in each event, and a 32-draw for the men’s and women’s doubles, with eight teams seeded in each event.
The mixed doubles, which is making a return to the Olympics as a medal sport for the first time since Paris 1924, will have a 16-draw, with four teams seeded. The draw for the mixed doubles is being held mid-way through the tennis event on 31 July.
Entry into the mixed doubles will be based on each pair’s combined ranking. Players can use either their singles or doubles ranking to qualify, whichever is highest, and a maximum of two teams per country are permitted. There are 12 Direct Acceptances into the mixed doubles, with the remaining four spots being filled by ITF Places.
Djokovic v Fognini

Repeat of the Wimbledon final?
Men's singles draw in full: http://2012.itftennis.com/olympics/r...s-singles.aspx
Falla took Fed to five sets at Wimbledon in 2010. Could be interesting with only three sets, although hopefully not.
Also, tough one for Muzza.
Fognini doesn't have a hope in hell.
Murray/Djokovic are in the stronger half.
Keothavong plays Wozniacki.
Watson and Robson v Kerber and Lisicki in the doubles.
GB :rose:.
Is it the same BBC team? I don't think much else is going to be on my TV apart from the tennis tbf.
Beat me to this one. Cycling time trial aside (road race only worth it for last 300yards in a one-off), not much else apart from the very obvious that I am looking forward to more than this. And if we can have the - spit - A-team for the football, surely we can have at least most of the BBC gang for the tennis? Mac might not come cheap, but here's hoping...
Bit annoyed that this is seeded really....
