good first day from England that. looks a belting wicket to bat on so to get the aussies 8 down for under 300 is a fantastic effort. thought all our bowlers bowled superbly. kept it pretty tight.

If England are still batting with good wickets in hand by lunch on Day Three, they should walk this one now. Being six down for a hundred odd after two hours - after you won the toss - is defeat in itself..
