I'm not saying we shouldn't give him a little time (though I doubt he'll get much better, as he doesn't seem of the mold of a DB, TH14 or a RvC). I'm just pointing out his shortcomings - those that I've observed ie - since you boldly posted on a public forum that nothing's wrong with him.

Giroud has done ok but his limitations are there for all to see, he was a budget buy and he looks like a budget buy, he'll never be top notch and right now we need a top striker up front.

Give him a season them judge him. Understand selling Gev and Rambo (not that it will happen now he has his new contract) but Giroud has to be given time. Anyone expcting him to be a big hit from the off was only kidding themselves.

Sorry that was aimed at Ach not you. Ok so he is not the best striker in the world and im not saying he is. he is still useful to the team.

of course he's useful to the team, he's a decent striker. should we recall chamakh instead? he'll comfortably get into double figures but it is important that we compliment him with a top tier guy come the summer - even if we do scoop up demba ba in january.

Don't remember saying we should leave him and not buy another top striker.

Important also for us to swing more aerial crosses aimed at that 12 yard area. Should be a given that we play to our main striker's strength(s). That Giroud can head a ball at ten times the pace than that Gervinho can kick a ball.

We need to figure out how we're going to play first. We need to commit to a system and then buy players that fit those roles. At the moment we seem to be getting the players in first and then trying to see how we can play them. I'm jumping on the bandwagon of wanting a speedy striker. But the trouble is - you ask people what they want and they'll want everything. They want someone with pace, someone strong, someone who can win aerial battles and score headers, someone with great technical ability, someone with great striker's instinct, someone who can create chances for himself...price-tag: £45m.
