ive never said that we will sign him. ive just used him as examples when talking about players or just posted what the media are saying because funnily enough if they are saying we bid for him then its arsenal news and worth talking about.

Yeah trouble is there's a new BS story every single day, they found something to talk about and have got their teeth round it and won't let go. First we bid 30 million, then it's 35, then it's 42 and now it 40 million and 1 pound. Oh and Liverpool want 55 million but don't want to sell him but might.
Oh and we'd have to pay him 250k a week. Assuming we sign him up for 5 years for example that's a 105 million pound deal at least.
the one thing i dont understand about this clause and being able to talk to the bidding club. why would you do that? bidding club bids 40 million, player talks to them and agrees terms, sets heart on move to bidding club. selling club say well we only said you could talk to him, we still want 55 million. bidding club says no. selling club have a pissed off player who wants to leave being made to stay at a club. it makes no sense, everyone loses
Read the guardian article on the matter. The deal is if Suarez wanted a move, there could be messy legal ramifications if the £40m bid wasn't accepted.
but this clause is there according to all reports ive seen, tahts why we bid the £1 extra. its either meaning he can talk to us or its actually his release clause.
but also reading further times reporters etc tonight, liverpool are allowing us to talk to him. why do that if you reject the bid?
It's on!
In summary, the newspapers are guessing the nature of this 'clause':
1) Suarez is allowed to talk to Arsenal (pretty fucking expensive conversation)
2) Suarez must be told about the bid (pretty fucking expensive statement of the obvious)
3) Santa Claus (doesn't fucking exist)
So basically, after all of this, no one has the faintest clue what is going on.
How many goals does Suarez get anyway. Every time I've watched him, he misses sitters.
this is from the telegraph tonight. that clause makes no sense what so ever unless its a release clauseQuote:
The bid, made by Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis during a telephone conversation with Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre at the club’s Melbourne training base, was swiftly rejected by the Merseysiders, who remain insistent that Suárez will not be sold this summer.
Having signed a £100,000-a-week four-year deal at Liverpool last summer, Suárez’s advisor, Pere Guardiola, negotiated a clause in the 26-year-old’s contract which entitled the player to be informed of any future bid in excess of £40 million for him.
While the player’s camp may yet choose to interpret the clause as enabling Suárez to leave Liverpool should a bid greater than £40 million be received, the club remain insistent that the only obligation on their part is to relay information of any offer to Suárez, who is due to play against Melbourne Victory on Wednesday.
Suárez trained with his team-mates in front of 15,000 spectators at the Melbourne Cricket Ground last night before being informed of Arsenal’s latest bid - the London’s club’s third offer, having lodged bids of £25 million and £35 million in the past month.
Trust wenger to bid on someone with a none release release clause.
Who are Liverpool going to replace Arsenal-bound Suarez with?
Darren Bent?
Defoe?
Sordell?
i could for the sake of a few million extra. if its true that madrid wanted closer to 40 million for higauin, and apparently his wages would be around 130k a week, then i could see wenger paying an extra 10/20k a week (depending on which reports you read) and an extra 2-5 million for suarez. more as a fuck you to madrid too. this whole thing is confusing though. and im not even that happy we are going all out for suarez :S nice to see we are making big bids for once though
No wonder you've been trying your luck...
Ladies and Gentleman, our Chief Executive Ian Ayre, and Robbie Fowler.

There was some talk of Liverpool making an offer for Soldado
"@OsmanZtheGooner: Suarez’s advisors have been asked to stall any negotiations until the Madrid can make their own formal approach to Liverpool. [Mirror]"
:haha:
Arsenal cou;ld cash in twice on Cesc if they do a deal with United not to block their bid.
We'll finish off just perfect.
Half the winnings for Cesc, engineered bids for two big names knowing full well they'll go elsewhere, sold off our deadwood and not spent anything.
We will spend in January, if we find top top quality.
RAWK is funny.Quote:
Could we not just be twats ourselves and put a £15m bid in for Cazorla or Wilshire? Then up to £16m....publicly say we rate them and we are heavily negotiating and we want the player etc. Unsettle their players.....fucking bellends. Not won a trophy in almost a decade and they want to take our best player?
2 can play at that game Mr Wenger http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/...lt/swanker.gif

If only we can somehow get Tony Evans in a room with Suarez to explain him whats more important : the glory after two cup runs or CL.
Just read about the suarez stuff.
So from what I understand, this clause only means Liverpool have to consider the bid but not accept it. So basically Its like any bid.
Stupidest clause ever?
Not if it means Suarez can talk to the bidding club. Ordinarily a fee has to be agreed for that to happen (officially) but not on this occasion. It might not achieve anything but it means a player could be certified in their belief that is they want to go as they will know what they are being offered.
So this deal could go right up to the window and the collapse under a legal avalanche? Fucking clever. Suarez, the one player we could pick that guarantees the money never has to leave the wallet. In this light the ridiculous bids makes sense. First bid was to upset Liverpool so fake negotiations start on the sourest possible note. Second, get the lawyers limbering up. We could easily string this right out to September and even come out the other side looking like the innocent party. Magnificent stuff, these guys are simply the best at what they do.
Now if they could get rid of Cazorla through some unfortunate twist of pre-planned events completely beyond their control - or is that too much?
Ahahah fake bids so they don't have to pay hahahahahaha you haven't mentioned that before.
Who?Quote:
Benfica want 40m euros (£34m) for winger Eduardo Salvio, 23, as they attempt to ward off interest from Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham.
