Offer more money?

That'd be far too easy. Where would Wumger get his lols?
Yeah, I think they purchased him for 15mill and the last I heard we increased our offer to 18mill which to be fair is quite reasonable given their shady financial situation.
I do kind of see where Malaga are coming from, Cazorla is at his peak and features regularly for the Spanish National team so his true market value is probably 25mill upwards. He's an absolute class player and would be a major coup for us.
Even if Santi goes a bit higher, I agree with that and it may not finish there, every chance we bring in a keeper and I wont be surprised to see the MVila story do the rounds again. As I see us using money we have or at least what we plan to get from Nic and co on Santi and RvPs will go on someone else, reckon we will also be wiser with wages offered
yep. we get 4 class players in for one andy carroll. can kind of see why liverpool are shit cant we?
anyway im still a bit worried about our defence. dont think jenkinson's good enough nor do i necessarily rate either left back we have. but our mentality seems to be to strengthen the midfield which will indirectly aid the defence. just look at barca's midfield; they keep the ball so well which means the defence really don't have to do much. their defence isn't top draw by any standard, it's just their midfield keep the ball so well and cover for them brilliantly. they all work as a unit and i think wengers going for the same approach.. the best form of defence is attack. push the opposition higher up the pitch, constantly put pressure and make sure we keep the ball.
having said that, it was only yesterday wenger said our young defenders are too inexperienced for the premier league and today confirmed squillaci is leaving, so maybe he has plans to sign another defender?
A few people on twitter reckon cazorla will be announced either late tomorrow or on Wednesday.
Also sky sports said we'd signed him on their website, then they removed it.

Ah well, I can't tell on my tiny iPhone screen!
How about they give us the £70m and pay RVP £0 a week?Quote:
Juventus plan to spend £70m on Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, 28. The package includes both the transfer fee and the player's wages and is intended to ensure they beat Manchester United and Manchester City to his signature.

Update by Malaga: http://malagacf.diariosur.es/noticia...-20120731.html
Seems cazorla wants to come and Malaga are resigned to losing him. But are adamant that the sale of the club is an independent issue and so Arsenal will need to fork out a good fee if they want him.
All this talk of them having to pay their La Liga fee's, cant they just use their champs league money for that?
That's credit they don't have yet - they could get knocked out of the play-off round after all.

Straight swap for Arshavin
I wouldn't mind Dempsey but he shouldn't be a priority.
Get Cazorla in first.
Mr Arseblog seems to think Barca are in for Song. Piece in "Sport" the spanish rag.
apparently he's refusing to sign a new contract.
IF that is true, I wouldn't be at all worried that arsenal will be without Song. I'll be worried that Barcelona are interested in someone who is not top notch. As we know, they only poach our very best players such as Fabregas and Hleb.
If it facilitates the m'vila transfer I'm all for it.
Yeah I agree with Syn. No way is Song technically good enough for Barca, he'd stand out like a sore thumb in their team. If they wanted that kind of player they wouldn't have sold Toure who's far superior to Song.
They aren't in for song.
It's from an opinion piece that suggests they should look at getting song to replace Keita.
It pure paper talk.
Not worried at all if Song goes.
Do not forget, we have also...oh.
:(
Song wont go anywhere
No other team in the world will give him the luxury of playing that offensively as he does for us seeing as hes a DM
Dempsey? Fulham regect and nearly 30. No thanks.
We need to stop pretending Song is a DM and use him as a third in the midfield three that does both attacking and defending, something like how Yaya Toure plays for Citeh (alongside a pure DM).
We do that and he will be world class, no point looking at selling him.
If he is approaching 30 all the more reason for us to take a punt on him. We can still do with more experienced heads. Also he is someone who does not need a period to adapt to the EPL game.
Plus he has a nasty streak of American dickishness.
Gooby plz
:haha:Quote:

You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why. Is Santi Cazorla coming to town? No.
I would certainly have Dempsey here, goals from midfield and a great set piece on him. I'm sure he'd be a hit with the fans because he's one of those players with an infectious attitude on the pitch.
However I doubt we have any intentions to sign him and Liverpool seems like his likely destination anyway.
I still wouldnt be surprised to see RvP go to Chelsea and Walcott to Liverpool
If we replace Walcott with Carloza that wouldn't be so bad. Although you know he would become good for them :banghead:
RVP to Chelsea is something that i'm surprised we haven't heard more about. They're European champions, they have the money and they are spending big. It could happen :(
Massive Bollocks.
I'm not surprised at all, I think it's evident Abramovich is going down a younger route at the moment.
