Who would replace fabregas?
Cesc Fabregas since 2004 – goals 52 , assists 88, total apps 310
Xavi Hernandez since 2004 – goals 49, assists 65, total apps 347
Remember a couple of seasons ago where it looked as though Villa would get 4th and Van Persie would leave to find CL football?
It's not really at all relevant, but I was just thinking how shit-scary that time was.
agreed......it is time......more than Cesc, would hate to see RvP go (have a funny feeling that Robin may be around for a few more years)Quote:
Time to cash in
if Cesc goes then the Nasri situation could be resolved more easily (could there have been a bit of that in Sagna's statement as he does mention Nasri too!) - we could give Nasri Cesc's salary or close to it and tie him down to a min 5 year contract.
Nasri could move to Cesc's AM position which I think he is best suited too and we could use the money to buy a decent winger
Sczensey
Sagna ------Verm -------Cahill/Samba------Baines
Song--------Wilshere
Walcott-----------Nasri------------Hazard
RvP
would this be a bad lien up? - bit light in the middle perhaps - bit short? (this is the first time I have tried to picture a team, moreover keep with the kind of formation we were using last season so please feel free to tear it to shreads:cool:)
Not sure if Hazard is likely or not but Gervinho and Baines is still a floating name (but would give us another very decent FK threat!)
My preferred line up would be back to 4-4-2.

Sagna Cahill/Samba Vermaelen Gibbs
Walcott Song Wilshire Winger (Hazard?)
RVP
Gervinho/Striker
It's why I'm not that fussed about Cesc leaving, or Nasri for that matter. Get back to playing with width, pace and power.
