Is this corruption as bad as Cronjes 10 or so years ago?
He got a life ban from cricket but didnt have to go to jail.
Just read up on it and Cronjes was much worse. Double standards
Different countries and different laws. You'd need to find a similar example in this country for a comparison to be valid and that goes for the Knox reference, too. Cronje was banned at a tribunal in South Africa wasn't he?
Charlie, any examples (about 'rapists' getting less than two years and eight months)?
Fair enough
Still dont understand why the law has to get involved in to a sporting issue
It's corruption, that's why.
I see.
India having a bit of a shocker v WI in the first Test
WI got 304 in the first innings. Chanderpaul with a century
India got 206 after being 113-2. More importantly, Sehwag got 55 off 46 balls  Dravid also got 50+
WI 21-2 in 2nd innings
WI opener out for 2 in 40 odd balls
Tests
There's a Test going on in Dehli - a much improved Windies taking on India. Indian selectors have got the team selection all wrong. Varun Aaron left out despite impressing in the ODIs, Yuvraj picked ahead of Kohli for some stupid reason and Rahane - who has been impressive for a while - left out for an under-performing Gambhir. Windies won the toss, batted, and ended up with a first innings lead of nearly 100 which, on this pitch, looked a very strong position. R Ashwin took 6 wickets in the second innings and India are set 276 to win; which would be India's 3rd highest successful run chase. Shitwag did well to fluke a couple of half-centuries in the Test but typically failed to capitalise when set. Dravid and Tendulkar have steadied India to 152-2; needing another 124 runs to win. West Indies at 8/1 at Ladbrokes which is a pretty good bet considering India don't have anyone after Laxman (next wicket) gets out. Yuvraj is a pub-team slogger and Dhoni is a gangster, not a cricketer.
Match still in the balance IMO.
