Match Reaction v Man City

He might splash the cash if we are struggling to get top 4.

I say might cos whilst he has done so in 06 and 09, he didnt last year and we scraped in to the CL thanks to that WBA keeper

There have been seasons in the recent past where we've done well early on, looked like we could win a trophy and then end terribly from February onwards when the pressure starts to build. So I'm not getting too confident that we can finally do something special this season. The problem we've had in recent seasons has been a lack of squad depth, so it will be interesting to see how we cope when/if Cazorla, Podolski, Arteta etc are injured for any period of time. It looks like we have a stronger squad this year tbf, but we need to see evidence that we have the quality to maintain a high level throughout the season, rather than for the first few months.

This is fair comment. While I am happy with the result and the overall performances so far, Wenger needs to have a squad deliver over the course of an entire season for us to know if anything has fundamentally changed.

Yes, we'll find out more over the next 33 games.

Just cause you don't want to be optimistic about the team don't mean the rest of us should not.
