Raikkonen is done. :(
Gap over 5 seconds now
Verstappen pits under VSC!
Which I think they’re allowed to do?
It’s going to be tight now.
Yeah it sounds like Ham should maybe have pitted but a close call i guess
Looking like Hamilton’s to lose but it depends if his tyres hold out.
Safety Car to come?!
There it is!
So…now what happens?
1 lap sprint:popcorn:
Down to one lap!
Verstappen has it!!!!
That was fucking daylight robbery
Verstappen wins the World Championship!!!
Holy shit.
The officials basically gave tbat to Verstappen
I mean. I don’t follow F1.
But that’s bullshit isn’t it?
Hamilton was definitely going to win but because of the safety car Verstappen gets to catch up and then because of the fresher tyres he wins?
Exactly, it's a joke
 Commentators referencing Michael Thomas
Me
Thats racing folks. Glad I had the recorder pressed for this one.
If that’s racing then I guess that’s why I don’t follow it.
Hamilton was clearly going to win but then because of the safety car they were allowed to do the final lap neck and neck.
It’s like being 5-0 up going in to injury time, the referee sending 3 of your players off and then declaring “next goal wins”.
Sport is bullshit, the officials got carried away with the occasion and made a totally bogus call, it's like when England won the cricket world cup on an incorrect umpiring call and the last world cup was settled by a really poor pel decision
But no-one cares we have to have a winner and no-one can reverse it when the circus gets underway
Hamilton being commendably magnanimous.
I’d have been telling everyone to fuck off.
The difference in the World Cup win and today is in my opinion the umpires awarding the extra runs was just a genuine mistake. They were not trying to deliberately alter the result whereas in this race the officials deliberately altered the rules to engineer a result
I hope Toto Wolff is kicking the shit out of those officials right now
The official saying to Wolff 'we wanted a race'
Err we got one and Ham had won it
Fucking disgraceful
NQ will be dancing in the streets of wherever he lives tonight.
With his nice pointy white hood on.
:ninja:
Plenty of curious calls throughout this race. Now Red Bull need to find themselves an engine for next season, now that Honda have pulled out. Looking forward to next March
One could argue that whoever of them won it deserved it.
But it was a shame how it was basically handed to him.
Toto Wolff literally called for Michael Masi not to deploy a Safety Car earlier in the race.
Fuck him.
Mercedes have lodged two protests against the result.
This isn’t over yet
To me, if the FIA wanted to finish the race properly, they should have red flagged meaning both drivers stop & change tyres and it’s a 5 lap race to the end.
That’s a fair fight.
This wasn’t. They changed the rules to fix the result. Listening to sky, the rules seem very clear. Once lapped cars pass the leader, safety car in the following lap meaning race finishes under safety car. This halfway house is just wrong
Mercedes have taken a barrrister into the conversation apparently...
