The gap is 3.7 seconds.
The Williams have been racing each other though, that must've slowed Button's progress down a bit.
Vettel wins! Congrats to him. Button second, Webber third. Then Alonso, Hamilton and Di Resta.
The title can only be between Vettel and Button now but Vettel will surely win it in Japan.
1.VET
2.BUT

KOB held up BUT after the SC. He could have won it otherwise.
vettel just needs a point now to win the title i think so yeah he is champion
Ructions in TV scrum. Massa shoved Hamilton mid question. Hamilton was asked if he could see Massa's point. Ham storms off to save exploding
from someone on twitter. interestingly enough eddie jordan thinks it was a racing incident and so do a few other journos on twitter.
though massa has a right to be annoyed thats actually v petty from him to do that during an interview
Massa is still bitter over 2008
He's bitter because Lewis is driving like an utter pratt this season. He's cost himself a bag of points with his dumb decision making.
Vettel is good but not as good as his lead suggests. McLaren and Ferrari are total fuck-ups this year, especially Ferrari. With all their money to see how slow their cars are even in the hands of a top, top racer, they should be ashamed.
agree totally with this. think lewis aggressive driving coems from being totally fucked off with mclaren not being able to give him a quick car for last three years and is desperate to win at all costs.
vettel is a good racer when out in front, he knows how to manage the car etc but when under pressure he buckles. china and montreal are two examples. if button today wasnt caught in traffic it would have been very interesting to see what vettel did. if you lewis in a red bull vettel wouldnt win a race again
I highly doubt it is anything to do with the car he has and to suggest it is would show how immature a driver he still is, Button has the same car but does not drive like a dick. This is his style and it's a high-risk one. I don't know why he keeps sticking to it when it causes him so many incidents.
All this stuff about Vettel is just plain weird, the guy was runner-up in 2009 and won without winning from the front too often last season. Is he flawless? No. None of them are.
If Hamilton was in a Red Bull, he'd do exactly the same thing as he does now (error strewn but fast). Talking as though the McClaren is dog slow is for me, disingenuous.
Some plans for McLaren's next car have been floating around.

Suzuka.
Also, Vettel crashed in practice.
Just watching Q3 now.
Suzuka, awful bloody circuit.
I'll be watching this on a 45 minute delay.
Formation lap under way. For me, anyway.
Hamilton up to second.
The incident between Vettel and Button right at the start (think he cut him off basically) is under investigation.
Alonso ahead of Massa, no defending by Massa at all. Although it's tough to tell with him.
No further action between Vettel and Button. I guess that is because it's at turn one at the very start of the race.
Button back ahead of Hamilton. Hamilton has a problem and has to pit!
It was a right rear puncture, Hamilton hadn't been looking after them again I guess.
Buemi is out.
Button is ahead of Vettel! Although that's fourth and fifth rather than first and second that it presumably will be later on.
Massa and Hamilton touched each other again.
Safety Car is out. Due to Hamilton taking a chunk out of Massa's front wing presumably.
Webber loses his front wing against Schumacher!
No further action between Hamilton and Massa. Race back under way.
Shall I spoil it for you?
No. Alonso is ahead of Vettel!
What an overtake by Sutil on one of the Saubers.
Alonso is closing in on Button.
Alonso is right up on Button now! Two laps to go.
