Has there been a PL wide pact not to bother with all this defence nonsense this season?
Ederson and Laporte are the only decent defensive signings they've made in recent years. Despite Walker being a regular, I maintain that he's just a really fast bloke.
It is abysmal recruitment for a club of their status and one of the most lauded managers of all time. Arteta has made us far more sturdy with a collection of outcasts, squad players and youngsters in a short space of time. It's also in stark contrast to Liverpool's squad bulding, who have been successful with the smart, lower-profile purchases and also the marquee signings.
