As I say every time this issue is raised, the transport links around Wembley are worse.
If we went to 80k and sorted out some of the local stations (as was promised when we first built The Emirates) there would be no real issue.

It’s not great for sure but the problem with the Emirates is more the narrowness of access (filtered access) which i think would require something to be done to Drayton Park station to make it match day accessible. I’m not saying it’s not doable, i’m saying it will depend on how much we want to spend, how agreeable islington council and tfl wish to be and the time factor (there’s apparently already significant structural alteration required to get us up to 70,000)
So will see what is decided i guess
I think it's folly, the Emirates has only found its voice in the last year or two and even last season once the title 'race' was over you started to see a lot of strangers showing up because ST holders found other things to do - and you couldn't shift a ticket for the second PSV leg for love or money
Just wait until we have another late-Wenger-era slump and it will be embarrassing to see it 70% empty - they should focus on making it quicker to get food/drink at HT and before the game if they want to milk it some more
I don't really agree it's folly. It's hard to get tickets right now which shows we could sell more tickets if they were available.
Utd's average attendance last season was over 73,000 despite them being utter shit. We need to get the balance right, it's true that a few poor seasons would lead to a drop in demand. We don't want 40-50,000 people rattling around in a 100,000 seater stadium. But I reckon we'd fill 70 or 75 quite easily for most games.
Definitely agree about the food and drink. When I used to go it was basically impossible to get out, go to the toilet and get a drink and pie before the second half started - unless you left before the half started which I never wanted to do. I assume that will be part of the upgrade.
well I still think it will be too big and besides that, as someone who actually goes i don't want the disruption either, plus lose my place in the ground, it will be chaos in terms of ST holders who get on staying near each other
and Wembley can fuck off
