So, Manu are above us in the standings. We are as shit as the Swans, Spuds and Stoke on 11 points, half of Chelsea's 22 points. We are just 20% through the season FFS.
And, we are just 3 points shy of 17th spot occupied by Sunderland.
Wenger, fuck off from my club which I have supported for 35 years. You disgust me, I cannot watch any more of your anal interviews.
Fuck off you French wanker.
On our current form we could be looking at getting 52 points and conceding the same number of goals.
To be fair, we did genuinely look like we were on the right track last season, we got the most points for years, we led the table for quite a time, we won an actual trophy, as well as the 4th place one (we've got that Double feeling!). The signing of Ozil last summer and Sanchez this showed a new intent in the transfer market. I really don't know where it's all gone so horribly wrong. There are obvious deficiencies in the squad, particularly in defence, but I don't think anyone could have predicted we'd be quite this crap.
:(
Quite good optimist you are having us down for 3rd place whilst those pub teams battle for 4th.
In all seriousness though, it's still a shit league, so I pretty much expect us to do our usual flat track bullying of the league's dross and narrowly secure the VT on last day of season.
It will then be hailed as Wenger's greatest achievement and all will be rosy in Wenger garden again.:scarf:
They are mostly floundering teams well off the pace of the top 2 teams, really. Mixed results and inconsistencies are their hallmark. A quick look at the numbers and you'll see just how poor the pushing seven have been.
Too bad we can we can described in a similar fashion, else we could have easily pulled away from that lot, quite similar to how the top 2 teams will do.
Anyone else fed up with the fawning over the Arsenal Invincibles 10 years on? Boring.
Adrian Durham's article is complete manure.
Under Wenger it has now been ingrained in everyone's psyche that finishing 4th is a win/win. It's not, it's fucking fourth best, it's disgusting, it's a losers mentality and that's why Wenger has to go sooner rather than later. And why aren't the crowd at Emirates more vociferous in voicing their displeasure against Wenger!
I will not set foot into our stadium again until he is gone.
The reason for that is because up to recently, we've tended to win most of our home games.
 we have been a team for the future for the past ten years
Could imagine us losing out on top 4 to Southampton tbh.
Its a given that their defence is better than ours aided by a balanced central midfield which is more than we can say. In attacking positions, Tadic and Mane provide an unpredictability and threat only rivalled by Sanchez, and Pelle is like a Giroud who knows how to score.
Not to mention United and Liverpool who arent just gonna fack off quietly.
This could be the year.
Spuds, Southampton or Everton will not be ousting us out of a top 4 finish. I can't be arsed to delve into why for each but a Team like this invariably takes it turns to be the young pretenders each year and most of the time they fall short.
The real early season delusion was that Manure would finish 7th again like last season and out of the top 4. Not going to happen, but they won't win the league either and with how much they've just spent they should be looking to be. That should be enough to snigger at.
Like it or not, Wenger is worth his salary from a business point of view and has been for the duration of his tenure. Were he not, he'd have gone a long time ago. Not winning much and not making business sense doesn't waiting incumbents at bay.....
I disagree. If a company keeps on making a profit year after year and returns nothing to its stakeholders in the way of dividends the profits mean nothing. We the fans are the stakeholders and year after year we have nothing to show for our support but rising ticket prices and merchandise costs. Does not make much business sense to me when we don't buy the right players, don't manage and motivate the team tactically, or strengthen our team when we need to (the defense). We are not real contenders instead, we are perpetual of pretenders.
No Blink, he is not worth the 8 million.
To the guys who took half a billion out of the Club, the owners who have watched the value of their shareholding rocket, and the Executive team that pretty much have to do fuck all while coining it as the Club hordes mountains of cash, he clearly is worth £8m. He may even be underpaid.
They are the only stakeholders that count
The fans are the customers. In the modern economy the role of the customer is to be milked.Quote:
We the fans are the stakeholders
A curse on all their houses especially that Lady Nina Bracewell Tosspot or whatever her name is. She was the one who held all the cards and at the end her decision to sell her block of shares to Kroenke instead of the burly Uzbek is what has put us in this position. Not that I like the fat bloke but clearly he is more of a fan than Kroenke ever was. A quick due diligence check by any of these shareholders would have show up SKE for what they are: institutional investors who might as well have been investing in a sock making factory. All of SKE`s sports franchises are non performing, and that is over a period of more than a decade. In the US collective bargaining and pay caps mean everybody makes money even when they come last. How ironic that in the land of capitalism. All their sports organisations are organised on a socialist model.
Granted that Lady Nina has come out recently with a bucket full of tears and regrets but the truth is we are in a sporting purgatory with this Kroenke bloke. He simply doesn't care about achievements on the pitch. Allied with a petulant, deluded, narcissist manager who thinks he is on earth to invent a new pattern of football, a la Rinus Michel. It is a combination made in hell
It is not okay to wish a sad demise to any person, but only something drastic happening is going to change our fate at the hands of Kroenke and Wenger
We used to laugh at Man Utd with the Glazers and their debt, but our owner is the biggest cunt of them all. I serioulsy have lost of the love for Arsenal, it's all changed now and it just doesnt seem to be a club that cares for the supporters. They are only interested in thier ££$$$. its a real labour of love following Arsenal, and to me it's like a corporate giant and not a football club. I just dont have the passion to watch them live or on the box any longer. I used to love the club and plauers and board, but now its not my club anymore, just some gigantic money making monster, served for the well off and corporate clients and executive boxes. I couldnt give a toss about tonights game or next weeks game or next seasons. The club from top down is just so fucked up and is not inetrested in the real fans.
That's more about football in general though. It certainly isn't unique to Arsenal.
Sad but true. I can't believe this was the vision for the future. We've truly been fucked over. It's getting to the point where I'm considering the same thing. Way too much time and money spent on following this team and it might be time to just switch off. The more and more I think about how football is financed....I just totally disagree with it.
Isn't this getting a bit dramatic? We've started the season poorly, picked up injuries (as always) but we haven't been relegated quite yet.
I think a lot of "hatred" is because we are very expensive to watch, premium price for a mediocre team, basically not getting what we pay for. If our ticket price is that of Manure or ManCity, then everyone would feel better.
:gp:
Cannot agree more on this, even though I do not think the cost of going to an Arsenal game is very expensive when I compare it to American sports. I get riled up when I see the Barca's, Bayerns and Utd's ticket prices compared to what we charge for the crap we produce! Its like paying a million dollars to get a toyota corrolla, when you want a Lamborghini.
You said it yourself, we're customers here to get milked and this isn't just a one off season. We have a manager that sold out a very long time ago and isn't concerned about value for money when it comes to the fans. He's more concerned about turning a profit for the board and shareholders. When asked about the ticket price hike a few years ago, he said it was necessary to remain competitive. Bullshit.
Take him out of the equation and we're still left with Stan and his cronies taking the piss. That £3m KSE took out of the club for services nobody at the club could explain or justify just shows the mentality of the people around the club. It coincides with the most recent ticket price hike and nobody is saying anything or asking the right questions. We're not in good hands and the entertainment factor has vanished.
You yourself question where football is heading and criticise the corporate takeover quite often. Aren't you a little worried by what's happening?
and btw our fucking board could learn a lot from watching how Dortmund treat and "love" their fans.
