Plenty of Liverpool fans making light of the shock cup exit. Yesterday's chip wrapper, apparently. Good, good, the more complacent the better. We need every bit of help we can get.

Aye, a friend of mine who supports them said as long as they stay top he's "not that bothered".
A strange attitude, I thought. Although they probably will stay top and I guess if they win the league they won't be shedding too many tears about the FA Cup.
They’re far more likely to win the league than we were after our previous cup exits, so I don’t think you can blame their fans if they’re a little indifferent to it. They should be annoyed that they lost to a pub team but the reality is they’d all rather have 3 points at Goodison tomorrow night if offered a choice.
Wenger said Arsenal could go a whole league campaign unbeaten and everyone laughed. The end result of that campaign has gone down in league history.
Liverpool have never had, likely never will again, the chance of doing the quadruple to top every single achievement from their supposed Manchester deadly rivals and maybe declare themselves owners of the greatest achievement in domestic football. I know what I would have been wishing for were I a Liverpool fan (apart from a nicked set of matching hubcaps). Throwing away the quadruple (unlikely but not impossible) so they can now try to emulate instead of beating what Manchester did? I'd be gutted. Might be prudent, might be wise, but it does show how disrespected the FA Cup is now (thank you Man Utd) and how important the big cash prizes are to the clubs, as opposed to what you might expect are the hopes and dreams of the fans. Apparently not. Yesterday's chip wrapper. The FA Cup. A big thanks has to go to Sky TV as well I suppose.
You need to give UEFA some "credit" too. The expansion of the CL means that Top 4 is now the goal for mid-table clubs.
Wenger was mocked for saying top 4 is like a trophy, and rightly so.
But unfortunately in the modern game where it's all about generating as much money as you can, the CL is where it's at. Financially, finishing Top 4 is better than winning the FA Cup.
It'll end up turning football from a passion to a fashion. And fashions go out of style.
Isn't it just sheer hindsight proves correct?
If we go on to win the league and the league cup afterward/a CL then absolutely no one will care about the FA Cup. If we go on to collapse and end up with fuck all/just the League Cup people will rightly look back and sneer.
I'd love us to be in a situation where we could realistically win all 4. I don't think that's this season. And besides all that, as much as the bench could have been stronger, the team put out could and arguably should have won; certain players absolutely did not play to their level.
Yeah, the quadruple is the stuff of legends. But it's also important to log another title and also maybe go for the big money in Europe. Impressive. Been done before. Won't be remembered outside Liverpool. Being the best you can be, or reduce the risks. Careful, you'll end up like us, designed to be second.
True. On the other hand we were supposedly on for a quadruple 2 or 3 years ago. And in a better position to do it. Nobody inside Liverpool remembers that season.
Bit of a red card for Millwall against Palace earlier.
Mateta nearly lost his head.
