Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is set to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of a move to Juventus, according to Bianconeri director Giuseppe Marotta.
The Denmark international has failed to break into the Gunners' team after returning from his loan spell at Sunderland and now looks set to join the Serie A champions on transfer deadline day.
Juventus had looked set to sign Dimitar Berbatov before he opted to join Fulham, and Marotta was keen to avoid discussing the deal in detail in order to prevent a similar situation.
Marotta told Sky Sport Italia: “Bendtner is already in Italy and will undergo a medical tomorrow.
“Until the final paperwork is concluded, I will not say that the player is ours. That became clear yesterday.”

It's on the telegraph and independent too... @AFCAMDEN broke the story a few hours early too.
Wouldn't mind Essien. Should be a loan with buy out clause although I think has knees are royally fucked.

@darrenarsenal1 says he's heard we are looking at 1 transfer in and 1 loan signing tomorrow.
No to Essien from me as well.
That's bottom of the barrel shit.
This and then some. ™
I have said Essien wasnt that bad and he could surprise but that was before I remembered that he has been dead for the best part of two years, he was quality though.
Also LDG pointed out we are actuallybmaking profit on oyr summer business so WTF?
My moment of devils advocacy is that we need experience PL/CL one at that and when we loaned Yossi he was a starter. . .this may be the case with Essien and I hope he is being considered as a experienced back up/mentor for someone like MVila. If that be the case then its a wise move which I support
Do we even need another CB, let alone one of M'Biwa's stature? We've got 3 CB's who are all good enough to start and Djourou and Miquel who are able back-ups. We're well stocked.
Which is exactly why we won't be in for him. He's a CB, right footed, and would be 4th choice in CB or 2nd choice rb most of the time which for a young captain would be a massive downgrade.
