On 2 I guess it is because it denied Adebayor the goalscoring opportunity. FIFA want to do away with the 'triple jeopardy' of it anyway though.

The FA must be praying for another goal given what one is the decisive goal currently...

Maybe the ref gave the goal because he mistook Terry's head for the ball. Easy mistake to make - just ask Diaby.
