Seeing him today and for Switzerland during the Euros, I didn't see a player we desperately needed.

What I liked about Elneny when he arrived is that he did the job of Cazorla but in a more simple manner. Also has the stature.

That's where I'm coming from, I don't think we can afford to park £33m on the bench given that we're desperate for a striker and centre back. Either way if he doesn't work out I certainly won't be blaming the player for that.

Well, it's obviously going to be Elneny who suffers in the game of Wengbot favourites and pricetags, but ideally Xhaka and Elneny would start together. One or two of Cazorla, Ramsey, Ozil, depending on the game, would give more balance to the team. But this is all hypothetical anyway.
