tbh Ronaldo's entitled to act arrogant & smug ..... he's earned the right with how good he is. It's not a Bendtner situation.
It's the diving and shithousery during a game that he should avoid .... he really doesn't need to engage in it.
lol there are things called pressure, emotion and tension .... all of which humans are susceptible to. Not to mention unlike say a Basketball free throw, you have an opposing player stood in front of you trying to put you off which enters into your mind.
Not to mention those sort of penalties into the top corner are high risk, high reward. They're very difficult to achieve in practice ..... it's very small margins. Even the slightest over hit and the ball goes blazing over the bar and you look like a fool. I suppose the thinking that if you at least ensure you hit the target you always have a chance of scoring.
Since when was Henry arrogant?!?
Ronaldo takes cheating and diving to the next level, most footballers might try it on once or twice in a game if they are really lucky, but last night he spent 45 mins diving every time he got within a foot of the ball.
I'm sure you appreciated his 'unique celebration' and spent some time with it on pause.......in the toilet......
Yes, BUT...they are professional footballers. They practice for hours almost every day.
How small is the treble 20 on a dartboard? Darts players can hit it with unerring regularity, is this really that different? Is it really such a difficult skill?
Yes, there's pressure but if you're good enough at a certain skill then you can do it under pressure.
I have more sympathy for strikers who have a split second to take a shot with the goal-keeper advancing and defenders sliding in and the ball moving...but a set piece with a still ball? Come on!
Maybe pinging it into the top corner every time is unrealistic, but they should be better than they are IMO.
I absolutely love Henry but he was pretty arrogant tbf, but I think players at that level have a certain right to be.
BUT, there are ways of doing it and I don't think Henry was ever the posing, preening, cheating, odious little cunt that Ronaldo is.
Plenty of players swagger in a way which makes opposition fans grudgingly respect them.
I don't know how I'd have felt about Henry were I not an Arsenal fan but I think apart from real knuckle draggers he was fairly well admired in the game.
Ronaldo is no worse a diver than anyone else really. He’s heavily disliked because he makes everything about himself but even by doing that he still manages to haul Real Madrid to success. I don’t mind it because he has the honours to make any criticisim of his play moot. Then there are of course Messi fanboys who will cry about anything he achieves but what those people say is often shrouded in bitterness. Likewise for the ones who pine for Ronaldo and won’t hear a bad word said about him even though he is obviously a cunt.
Absolutely right. 45 minutes of trying to find the angle to get a penalty or an opponents sent off, rather than play football and try to win the match legitimately. Then, to add the salt, he's there to take the penalty with the last kick of the game after yet another Madrid dive in the box.
Shocking shit. The opposite of football. But the pundits seem to love it. Maybe the bloke has a big cock or something, and they just can't get enough of it.
Liverpool play Roma, it's looking more and more likely they'll go through, expecting an non performance by Roma, they probably only have one decent performance in them!
