I'd say it's shit.
Of the Prem teams involved this season, it's only really Wigan who you could justifiably say "threw the Cup" this year. 19/20 is still not the 20 it should be, but moving back in the right direction. Now if we could just move the semi-finals from Wembley, get the match to kick-off at 3:00 on the Saturday after the league season finishes (particularly tricky now I know), and of course get the No Football To Ever Be Shown On ITV And/Or ESPN Ever Again Act 2012 passes, then I think we're set.
Oh, and don't put the lyrics to 'Abide With Me' on seats before the final. Everyone used to know them back in the day...
At least we haven't had to endure the Budweiser "added time multi-ball" advert. Yet.
I'm going to miss the game and I'm not really bothered to be honest. Even if Arsenal weren't involved in finals back in the day, I'd still watch a portion of the build up from lunchtime onwards. That's what cup final days were all about, it would transcend the neutral and even bring in casual viewers.
Everything Rors says above needs to happen to restore some normality. Although I fear with the pittance of prize money on offer, compared to the allure of Europe, it is destined to be nothing more than a day out for the fans involved and a non-event for those not.
It's a great competition and I'd love to win it again but I feel as though it's had a holocaust in recent years.
Aint seen a final in its entirety since 2005
FA Cup is truly dead for me
Wont watch this one either
