Massive result for us. Didn't think we would get the job done. Happy :)
Presumably - we can just give ESR a runout, no problem
Awful ref. He has interpreted the rules completely fucking wrong.
Twat.
Up the Arsenal. Great win.
Nketiah I think will need to step up even with Martinelli, Laca needs to make way for ESR.
I like to think it isn't because...oh what's the bloody point if it's all stacked against us (and I know that every team's fans are a bit paranoid - the big teams fans feel they're being made an example of, the smaller teams fans feel the big teams get away with murder).
But I do remember two basically identical sendings off, one for us and one for (I think) Southampton. Both clubs appealed. No prizes for guessing who succeeded and who didn't...
When you get a yellow, it’s a caution. i.e. don’t do that again. How can you caution a player if the game isn’t stopped. It’s either a straight red for persistent cuntery, or a yellow.
You can’t just wave your yellow like a windmill. What if he’d done four “yellows” in a row. Can he send him off twice??
Actually, I’ve just made a great point (hero)
If it was two red card challenges, does he get double bubble
Suspension?
What about if one isn’t a bookable offence and one is?
The fact of the matter is, fat Oliver decided that in the spirit of getting caught in the moment, he’d make himself front and centre because that’s what the game needed.
Bullshit.
And the five minutes (which now seems the norm in any game) is to keep the betting going.
I have no idea what the rules are around 2 bookings in the same phase of play.
It does seem dodgy for the reasons you’ve mentioned.
BUT, Martinelli was an idiot. He doesn’t get off Scott free. He was an idiot and gave the ref every excuse to do what he did.
I don’t understand what the actual rule is, but Martinelli lost his head and can’t really have any complaints, it was worthy of 2 yellows if they were in a different phase. Seems like a bit of grey area.
