Worked out quite well for Sainz this Safety Car.
F1 is a stupid sport. Risking its participants for the sake of tradition. Release the drivers at 3 second intervals, determine grid places by lots drawn before each game. Million dollar machines wiped out in 20 seconds at the start of each race putting peoples lives at risk
It’s barely a sport at all. I could never get the hang of it - it’s a weird mix of “who can make the best car” and “who is the best driver”. Pick a lane!
And after the finale of last season when they blatantly fixed the championship I won’t bother with it again.
Seb Vettel will retire at the end of the season.
It's not a sport anymore. It probably never was. It used to be a rare glimpse into the danger and dagger thrusting competition that most people didn't have the balls to face themselves. An escape and a fantasy played out in real life. Now it's a mobile advertising extravaganza. The danger has been removed and therefore the purpose is gone.
Long live the TT. If the woke brigade and the marketing demons ever get their hands on that one then there's nothing left to measure the thin line between living and mere existence.
The marketing brigade will eat up and puke out anything of value. And they’ll be applauded while they do it.
It doesn’t have to be dangerous to have purpose or be a sport.
But sport should be person vs person, not machine vs machine.
F1 is a weird mix of both I’ve never been able to get the hang of.
And the result of last season’s championship was clearly manipulated.
As always I like to think because of incompetence rather than malice but it doesn’t really matter which. It can’t be taken seriously after that.
You know nothing of significance about F1 - yet you are certain about your conspiracy theory, in between calling others conspiracy theorists.
Btw, yes it does need to be dangerous. That's one of the pillars very much understood by petrol heads past (who witnessed the genuine article) and present (who sustain themselves on nostalgia while waiting for this parody of F1 to be fixed). The danger separates the men from people like you.
You should watch the TT and let me know how, exactly, you remove the danger yet still end up with the same result. F1 is no different, except when the day-tripping, prawn cocktail brigade get attracted for the purposes of marketing to their pliable minds.
And, of course, football is the same. Though to a lesser degree. Watch out Johnny, don't head the ball. You might get brain damage.
As if the woke mob aren't already severely brain damaged.
Comprehension isn't really your forte, is it sunshine? Let me try and help:
See? I said I wasn't sure if it was some deliberate thing or just idiocy, and I leaned towards the latter.
Fine, I said "manipulated", maybe that was the wrong word. But either way the result was changed by the actions of the race director.
It felt like Arsenal going 3-0 up, the ref sending off two of our players and shouting "next goal wins!"
My mum lives on the Isle of Man, I have seen the TT live :good:Quote:

I personally don't care if it's dangerous - but then I personally don't care about racing at all. And I'd suggest it still is dangerous, your grumble seems to be they've made crashes more survivable, which is a ridiculous thing to complain about.
My issue is that sport should be "may the best man win". If it's just about who has the fastest car then what's the point? I mean, it might be an interesting competition, but it's not sport. F1 isn't just about that of course, but it is a weird mix of the teams trying to make the fastest car, and the drivers trying to be the best driver. It's a sort of mix between a technical competition and a sport.
I think it's similar to some of my problem with modern football. Sure, money has always played a part but now it's such a big factor in where the trophies end up. Who cares which billionaire beats which billionaire? You all but know it's going to be one of them and the rest don't stand a chance, so what's the point?
Belgian GP is on in a few minutes.
Mixed up grid due to PU penalties.
Expect a Red Bull 1-2
Well there's one part to it.
Alonso's message to Hamilton. Bit spicy.
Now it is a 1-2.
This is really dull.
The most intriguing part is how much faster Verstappen is compared to Perez. How is that possible
Dutch GP, Mercedes 1-2 currently!
Although not for long with pitting under Safety Car.
Verstappen blasts past Hamilton really.
Hamilton now fourth!
Formation lap underway for the Italian GP!
Looking like another Verstappen win.
Safety Car completely changes everything!
Or not at all as it might finish under the Safety Car.
And that is how it finishes.
Well that was bullshit. Should have red flagged it.
So red bull found to have breached the cost cap for last season. I dont think the actual figures have been released but its a minor breach which means anything under 7.5 million in overspend.
It’s just another question mark against vertstappen’s title last year. The safety car decision was wrong and now red bull found to have exceeded the cap.
Ross Brawn was unequivocal about the repercussions for this.

Lets see if the FIA have the balls to do what's right. I won't be holding my breath.
