When the fixtures came out I mapped out our season and how I thought we would do, and I thought I was being pretty optimistic but we are actually on ten more points than I thought we would be on at this stage of the season

And I think the players will to win and the emergence of individual quality has far more to do with the season we are having than someone who lacks any charm or charisma and who delivers quixotic and bizarre rants and calls them team talks. I’m not saying they don’t like him, but I don’t think there’s much closeness there either.

But a manager surely has to be accountable for results, it’s always them who gets sacked when the team underperforms. I think too many of Arteta’s team selections make it harder for the players (constantly picking Zinchenko for example…I worry about playing with him at Anfield and the Etihad as much as I do playing with Rob Holding). The whole inverted full back thing is Galaxy brained.
I think his tactics have tanked games (certainly Everton and Man United away) and I think the way we were set up against Bournemouth (backing off them) almost cost us the points. Then there is the fact that he hasn’t addressed a clear issue with marking from defensive set pieces….why is Odegaard even back there, he as much chance of finding his man as a blind man reading a Where’s Wally book.
I still don’t like the way players get frozen out of the team and this time around it’s Kieran Tierney, it just seems another player he seems to have fallen out with.
