Quite an absorbing game so far despite the scoreline
I'd be surprised if there weren't goals in the second half, both teams have come very close, in particular the offside was very close

Pels it is :haha:
In fairness im only half joking, when these two played each other two years (albeit yes especially with Chelsea a very different team) plenty of chances in the fa cup game and league cup game (although in those matches it was mainly all Liverpool chances)
And as soon as I say that Van Dijk scores
Chelsea.
Oh VAR might have its say
And it’s been chalked off. 0-0 as you were
Goal disallowed for Liverpool. That is so confusing.
So apparently Endo was in an offside position when blocking off Chilwell from intercepting Van Dijk
He’s either offside or he’s not. What he’s doing whilst standing in an offside position barely seems relevant
I always found the interfering in play argument bollocks. But basing it on what a player could or would do is absurd
Gakpo sends one into space
All it will take now is for a penalty to be awarded, when someone’s hand is deemed to be in an unnatural position because seemingly no one in the VAR studio has ever seen someone jump before
I can't believe that Chelsea have spent so much money but all they have up front is Nicholas Jackson
Gallagher has to score there
Al Exis Mac Allister off
Jackson hauled off, Mudryk coming on
Fuck me I thought we had injury issues
good that both teams have to play an extra half hour
Chelsea are looking the most likely to score but on balance i'd prefer Liverpool to win, i hate Ponce and if Liverpool win they might relax just a touch, as they've had a success in Klopp's last season
I want Liverpool to win because I hate Chelsea
Epitome of everything that’s wrong with football. Plus Scumbag fans
I don’t really care about Pochettino one way or the other
Subbing off Gakpo (even though he is shit) gives me the impression Klopp isn’t exactly committed to winning the trophy and instead is putting everything on winning the league.
Had to look up Jayden Danns as never heard of him, not really a surprise haven’t heard of half the players in our own under 21 side

Why would you have a photo taken (presumably for the club website) that makes you look like you’re mugshot is being taken as part of your processing in HMP Walton
Diaz has been fantastic, never given up and it's a shame for him his teammates haven't scored off his efforts
Give him credit though, he’s making himself available for chances. Trying to channel his inner Roy Essendoh
dreadful corner from Chelsea
To think we nearly signed Mudryk instead of all of Kiwior, Trossard and Jorginho
I don't think we should entirely let Arteta off that yet
Sky Sports' Laura Hunter at Wembley:
"This game has produced a combined xG total of 3.83 and zero goals, and no one sat in this confused press box quite understands how or why..."
Might have something to do with Chelsea being notoriously poor finishers and Liverpool being without all three of their strikers through injury
Van Dijk scores
I hope it gets ruled out…not for any reason. It would just be funny
0-1 Van Dijk now
120: PENALTY APPEAL! It's not over yet.
Chelsea want a spot kick for a Van Dijk handball but too close to his body.
Three added minutes! Van Dijk punches the ball with delight as Chelsea are caught offside.
I’m assuming these are two seperate incidents
Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool
Sky Sports' Jamie Carragher:
"If Liverpool hold on, this game will tell you that football isn't all about money!"

Game over
Chelsea :haha:
Ponce :haha:
Mudryk :haha:
Chelsea fans :haha:
Klopp
Got to say most of the Liverpool kids were quite good, apart from McConnell who was awful
Disagree with this. There are times when a player scores from distance, if another player is marginally offside then unless they’re in any way blocking the ‘keeper’s view then give the goal, I reckon. The offside player in no way affected whether the ball went in the net.
I realise that leaves the rule open to interpretation but it anyway and if there was more common sense in the world it wouldn’t be an issue.
:haha:
Fucking hell you've got to be embarrassed if you're Chelsea. The team that started for us wasn't exactly A*, but the one that finished it...
