Qualifying for the Abu Dhabi GP on soon.
Hamilton fastest in Q1.
Gutierrez, Sutil, Van Der Garde, Bianchi, Pic and Chilton drop out.
Rosberg fastest in Q2.
Alonso! drops out along with Di Resta, Button, Vergne, Maldonado and Bottas.
Alonslow
Ferrari are getting rid of the wrong driver.
Also, Q3 under way.
Kimi's car failed scrutineering and will start dead last.
Formation lap under way.
Vettel takes the lead! Rosberg second.
Raikkonen out!
Button having to pit early on, front wing damage.
Muse are there.
Webber passes Rosberg!
No ILT updates for them on here anymore, otherwise I'd have known that.
Hamilton overtakes Sutil, Sutil gets it back with DRS, then Massa overtales Hamilton!
Massa passes Sutil now.
Grosjean is driving brilliantly, not just in this race. Ahead of Massa now.
Vettel 31 seconds ahead of Webber.
Alonso, Vergne and Massa having fun.
Felipe Massa will drive for Williams next year, alongside Valtteri Bottas.
Maldonado
Though I expect Maldonado to go to Lotus.
Looks like Perez is OUT of McLaren.
To be replaced by Kevin Magnussen
Heikki Kovalainen will probably drive the Lotus for the last 2 races.
they asked Schumacher to come back for the last 2 races apparently. he said no
I'm really surprised at McLaren's driver choice for next year.
Though the last time they put a rookie in a racecar it didn't turn out too badly.
I think it's very harsh on Perez. Button is rather lucky he is old and British. Allegedly.
I think it's harsh on Perez too. I like him a lot, but it's a cut-throat business.
Button, I think, gets a pass because his feedback and relationship with engineers is apparently much better. And he does have almost twice as many points as Checo. Though, for McLaren, both totals are woefully low.
I suppose they can't really afford to have another season like this due to how much more money the other teams will get. Not sure I would have binned him after one year though, where drivers are asked to be a lot more circumspect in what they can do - something Perez isn't exactly in tune with (Suzuka last year springs to mind ).
Magnussen has done really well in the other formulas though, so it could end up being a wise decision. Once he starts, so he'll finish. Sorry.
If Magnussen wasn't so highly rated I'm sure they would have given Checo another year, but he's supposed to be super, super quality.
All he needs to do is match Jenson, really. At least in qualifying, which has never been Button's strength.
WTF?
I did have a further think about the Perez decision. McLaren aren't the brightest at publicity - Mexican GP next year, get rid of Mexican driver.
Qualifying for the American GP on soon.
It's likely we won't see a Mexican Grand Prix until 2015 at least, it's been removed from the provisional calendar.
Has it?
Me. :haha:
