For each player, the club obviously tries to get as much money as they can. If they're as money-minded as we make them out to be, then it's in their exact interests to extract as much as they can. But in a few cases there was no more than 1 realistic option to sell to. e.g. Henry and Cesc to Barcelona. In this case, if Fergie is right and we've leaked out the news of their bid, we are trying to get as many clubs involved as possible that will obviously drive up the price. I suspect it's also a 'pride' thing for man utd vs man city - they both might want to show they have the bigger pulling power. You might expect man utd to be above that but after the way last season ended, it would've hurt. But £30m is highly unlikely.

RVP is not worth paying £195'000 a week to.

He has had 1 injury free season in 8 years for fucks sake.

We're being stretched to breaking point and the fans can't endure much more. You know how I feel about Wenger and it pisses me off that such a purist can defend the bullshit model we have that fleeces the fans.

you need to be a bit clearer with your posts.

As much as I want RvP to stay I'd say if we got 20-25m for him it would probably turn out to be another good bit of business by Wenger, who prides himself on selling at the right time. We got his best years, he wont get any better, and will probably suffer from Arsenalitis at City (if he goes there). We changed our entire formation to fit him, which wont happen at any other club, so the chances are he wont score 30+ in the PL again (my logic, lol).

We didn't change our formation to suite him. He had to adapt to the lone striker role. We were playing 4-3-3 when Ade and Cesc were here.
