At the very least, you'd think there'd be some credible rumours floating about potential serious targets incoming given how few days there are remaining till the window shuts. During the panic buy of 2011 the rumours about Mertesacker and Arteta had been circulating around for quite a while before we swooped in near the end.
The only hope is that in this day of social media, instant updates, people uploading twitter photos of a player at an airport etc etc, that the club have somehow managed to play a blinder and keep everyone out of the loop in regards to imminent transfers. They are just waiting announce a succession of top top quality transfers any moment today or tomorrow and surprise us and the rest of the footballing world.
That's the hope anyway. :(
