60million is what it will take, 40 million is what we will offer

Draxler had a release clause of £38m in his contract.
The deal is already completed now according to you know who ...
:haha::haha:Quote:
Similarly, Arsenal have been scared off Valencia keeper Vicente Guaita after having a £6m bid turned down and following a heated row between Miroslav Ğukic, Valencia's manager, and Wenger when the Frenchman attempted to reverse the call charges one time too many during protracted negotiations.
This has surely got to be a wind up? Is Wenger, the man who earns 7.5 million a year, really that cheap?
Edit - Good work NQ. Managed to fool me for a second. :(
Wayne Gooney? Must be true then. :coffee:
Isn't Draxler another CAM? How many do we need?!
With long term injuries to Ox and Pod, we may have to play Cazorla on the left. We don't have enough creative players I this team. If anything happened to Cazorla, we'd be in serious trouble for the season.
Well if he's an upgrade on what we have then quantity shouldn't come into it.
Right now I don't think we're even prioritising positions, we clearly have no strategy so I think it's just a case of buy whoever we can.
We're covered for central midfield and defensive midfield now. Defenders, creative players and strikers are what we need now. If Giroud picks up an injury we only have Sanago and Theo that can play there. That's very poor. If Theo gets injured or has to play upfront, who can play on the right wing? We're so light in numbers. It's patch up jobs all over the pitch. An injury to Giroud, Cazorla or Theo would put us in some serious trouble this season without quality back up players. We can't even afford to rotate them with this current squad.
Stick Gibbs on the wing, Bendtner up front, Flamini in defence.
Job done.
About time we signed someone with as a hard as fuck name like Julian.
Yeah the KPB deal pretty much is a replacement for him, he's coming home
Also another target (?) gone

He sounds like a Bond Villain
Wenger on Benzema, Ozil & di Maria: "I don't know, it's not like a supermarket where if you buy two you get one free!"
:haha:
Wenger: "I was accused of buying non-English players. Now we have many, and you (media) push me to buy foreign players.
Wenger: "Chelsea's squad last season - you'd have said they'll compete for title, right? And they finished just 2pts ahead of us."
If he hadn't irritated me so much with his procrastination and agonising in the transfer market i'd say that was a great line....but he has infuriated me far too much to take amusement in what he says.
This summer proves that he has to go you can't just put in a director of football because the man sees nothing wrong with his approach he draws too much strength from his own certainties and a fresh direction is needed.
The board are greedy, weak and incompetent but for me all this has done is allowed Wenger to thrive unchallenged free to make the same mistakes over and over again.
When the transfer window closes whether we have signed or not i am going to be pacing for the next nine months hoping that he doesn't sign a new contract and just goes

Seriously, one of these fuckers on GW (or ArsenalMania) must be Wernger. :haha:

Your a manager that's all you are...it's not your job to "confront the reality of today's prices" that's for your bosses to do, a player's cost should be of no concern to you the only thing that should be of concern to you is whether you think he is good enough for the club that's it.....
Wenger admitting we're buying two of Ozil, Benzema and Di Maria.
@peirmorgan I'm told, very reliably, that Lamela wanted to go to Arsenal, not Spurs, but Wenger rejected him last week. #Afc
@honigstein
Finally some Draxler info. Release clause of €45m was only valid until end of June. Schalke would sell for crazy money, €50m-60m
His agent also the agent of Luiz Gustavo. Not sure they see Arsenal as next logical career move. Overall odds: 20%, at best
I think Draxler is superb. But still young and learning, needs to play every week and best as no10. Not what Arsenal need , IMO, for that €€
piers morgan pretending to be an itk now?
so thats a phone hacking, lying, being a cunt of the highest order, and now pretending to be itk.
what a cunt
@honigstein is stupid fuck. Draxler is exactly at the same level Gotze, Hazard or Lamela. Wait for 1-2 more years, Schalke can easily fetch £40-50mil for him.
Oh, how on earth his release clause expired at the end of June when he just signed a new contract in Spring? Either Schalke management is stupid or Wumger is their advisor.:coffee:
So not Draxler then? I'm sort of pleased because watching him play he looks just the sort Wenger would try to convert to the striker's role. Excellent player but already too big for us. As re Benezema, Ozil and maybe even Di Maria, depressingly. As each day passes I wonder more and more how we managed to land Cazorla. What terrible secret did we use to blackmail him into signing?
Anyway. Next!
victor moses to liverpool on loan
But why didn'y anyone else go in for him? I'm not complaining, I just think it's odd we ended up with a talented player rather than pure shite.
We make it our business to screw over clubs in the transfer market, most of them turn us down and laugh at us but ocassionally we get lucky and a cash strapped club is left with no choice but to sell.
That's unless we sign nobodies of course, in which case the price is always OK as they have no real market value.
Really? Oh shit, I was hoping we might squeak a few loans in at the last minute if we can't get any transfers done in this impossible market that hasn't moved in the right direction. There goes that options. We could have half time competitions to see if any of the fans are decent. Maybe give them a (small) discount on their season ticket if they agree to play when we are short?
Apparently Kaka is now on freebie section.
All Wenger's language indicates a day of inactivity on Monday. He bats away any reason for signing players. In his mind it's even the media's fault he won't spend money. I'm way beyond having any clue how he thinks this bare bones squad (which is basically what, about 14 recognised senior players?) can get through a season and be competitive. This is like some holding exercise while they wait for a non-football related event or circumstance to arrive. I don't think these guys are focused on football at all, they can't be can they?
