He must have had a thought.
Wenger was on his way to write a cheque when he realised he's a tight fisted miserly old Scrooge git.
someone on twitter, who doesn't claim to be ITK, and has been discrediting Wenger at every turn and tried to organise a 'Wenger out' fan demonstration is saying that he received 'reliable' information that we are submitting one final offer for Suarez.
Not that I believe it, but he's the last person that would fabricate anything positive whilst Wenger is in charge.
I imagine we'll be throwing out many bids on Monday (like Spuds did for every player in La Liga a couple of seasons ago) and see which one sticks.
Would Liverpool sell him this late ?
Lets go for Torres aswell

We're ready for tomorrow... #AFC @aaronramsey

Exactly to be honest i am surprised he hasn't joined a top club as since he came back from that injury (inflicted as a result of a horrific tackle by Nigel De Jong) i think he's been immense and if we signed him for 15-20 million i would consider that an excellent piece of business.
In an hour or so, all the 'transfer links' from the papers are released. Kalou anyone ?
Btw, this video isn't old, and wasn't posted on here before by me, but the warchest has been spent !

No first choice keeper ffs
This is always the downside of a good win or a good player performance, Wenger takes the opportunity to justify his penny pinching. He doesn't seem to understand competition, if a player is playing well then get some competition in to ensure he keeps on playing well. A win over the spuds tomorrow and he'll be on about the £110mill they have spent, further attempting to justify the fat zero he's invested in the team. Then when we run out of players mid-season he'll say we are unlucky.
What's the punishment for being unable to fulfill a fixture due to player shortage?

Quote:
Midway through a fairly routine pre-match press conference a nerve was struck when the subject of Franco Baldini's busy summer as Tottenham Hotspur's technical director was put to Arsène Wenger. The inquisitor was not even permitted to reach the end of his question, as Wenger pounced with a short, sharp response. "Would you work with a dir …"
"No."
There was a pause. The air in the room felt a little thick suddenly. Was this a slight at Arsenal's neighbourly rivals? Hardly. This was more a case of Wenger flexing his muscles as the unchallenged lord of his Islington manor.
His time has passed. The entire structure of our club is light years out of date and will not change under his watch.
Hope they do tbhQuote:
Swansea have warned Arsenal they are prepared to fight "tooth and nail" to keep hold of 29-year-old central defender Ashley Williams and striker Michu, 27.

Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata, 25, will have to *demand a transfer in order to push through a move to Arsenal.

Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard, 33, has told striker Luis Suarez, 26, that he is too big for Arsenal, but he can go to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich if Liverpool don't qualify for the next season's Champions League.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he would not be prepared to work with a director of football.

Mata needs to put in a transfer request ASAP
Gerard needs to stfu. Just cos hes flopped doesn't mean Suarez has to.
Time for a director of football to come home.
WHO?Quote:
Manager Arsene Wenger has been chasing Real Madrid trio Angel Di Maria, Mesut Ozil and Karim Benzema, and is also interested in Schalke’s Julian Draxler. It is believed the *£38million buy-out clause in Draxler’s contract expired in June.
But, aware such big deals will be hard to pull off with so little time left, Wenger has identified 24-year-old Montero as a last-minute back-up option. Cardiff have been in *negotiations with *Montero and his Mexican club Morelia, but the *Premier League new boys have been made aware of Arsenal’s interest.

I think we'll sign Mata. It makes no sense for him to be out in the cold at the chavs with a world cup year coming up. City don't need him and Utd have Moyes, so we could actually do this deal and stand a chance of getting him. It won't make much of a difference overall as we need at least 5 top players by the end of Monday but he would still add quality in what is set to be a tough season trying to scrape 4th.
Prob won't cost much but doubt he's free so way out of our price range.
He's also Ecuadorean
If we haven't seen some significant signings in the next 48 hours it will be close on a miracle if we scrape 4th. Biggest 48 hours in Wenger's career coming up. I don;t see how anyone can support him if he lets us go into the season with a squad this depleted.
piiiiiiiiissed as a pudding
Don't know how anyone continued to support him after he engineered our most humiliating lost ever.
Became even more baffling that some fans still had faith in him after he then, a season later, sold our best player, and League's best striker, to the team that humiliated had us.
It's now September and we haven't spent any money.
56 hours to go.
