He's a very good defender.

Better than Williams by miles for sure and would take his rightful place alongside Mert n our team

The names don't get much bigger than that.

Last I read we were put off by the price (which seems to have plummeted if you believe that article) and his knee; he had a serious knee injury last season which kept him out for a long time.

He was brilliant at Euro 2012 iirc
