yeah i agree. i think we tend to devalue ivan's role mainly because of things that have happened way before he arrived; he walked into a hot cauldron and came to arsenal when fan tension was at an all time high. i wouldn't have wanted to take the job, thats for sure. but he's done an okay job, it's not his fault players aren't signing the contracts he puts in front of them. as i say, most of what he's had to deal with have come from accumulated failings way before gazidis arrived; he came to arsenal midway through a failed youth project and had to pick up the pieces. he gets lambasted because he's the public face of arsenal and seems to churn out the usual PR crap like all the others do, but if he keeps doing what he's been doing over the past 12 months, he'll turn into a hero. dare i say, maybe even more loved than dein?
