Yeah, he has no pace.
Yes pace.
For his first he broke away from his marker and sprinted onto the end of the cross and for his second he outran the defender to get in the box for poldi's cross.
If that's not pace I don't know what is.
Running at full speed without the ball isn't what id call pace tbh. Amount of times he's been put through with the ball and been caught, he has no pace.
He showed some improvement last night for sure though. More of the same
 @ Giroud having pace.... Not sure I'd state that as high on his list of attributes, even taking into account last night's game. A decent enough striker though. Would make an excellent sub for Villa.
Bit harsh to be honest, Giroud is like Arsenal not scoring on a consistent basis.....he has scored 11 goals so far this season which isn't terrible for a foreign striker in their first season but he is scoring braces in one off games and then not scoring again for four or five games. Much like Arsenal we scored seven against Newcastle, then we managed only five in the next five....before last night.
That's the thing though, his stats don't look bad but if you're scoring goals in small burst it distorts the stats somewhat.
A player who can score regularly is much more valuable than a player who scores 4-5 in one game and then none for the next 10 games.
He's not a bad player and a good sub for sure, but we need better to be successful as he'll never be top notch.
