Question is how long he can keep doing it, he's turning 36 in 2 weeks, pretty amazing that he's still going strong on the highest level.

If we can't get Suarez, we should go Michu. He is not out and out striker but a perfect fake no 9, typical Wumger striker IMO. :coffee:
I think Michu is actually little bit top quality. He rarely seems to waste the ball and is a bit of a tank as well which seems to go unnoticed.
20m bid in January tbf.
Michu seems to be a good fit especially as he's poved he can handle P.L football. If we're gonna go down Di Natale route for short term striker of quality Klose would be better option. Rather go mental to get Suarez or even Falcao if the Monaco dream turns sour
No thanks to bitey racist. Michu is okay. I'd prefer Benteke if we're going to spend 20-25 million....
Fuck all that shit.
If we're spending, and Özil was first....
Time to go big and take the title home.
Gomez?
I think Michu would become class for us, if he was willing to play up top, but i think he said he favors the role behind the striker.
Michu is a good player, but he would most likely operate in Giroud's position. Is he an upgrade? We need someone who offers something different. Someone explosive with more pace. If we're serious about becoming an elite club, that means buying elite players. Which, as impressive as he has been, Michu is not.
In the wide positions, we have Theo, Podolski, Oxlade, Cazorla and Gnabry. They all are more suited there and offer a good mixture of play styles.
BFG  .Quote:
Arsenal will offer central defender Per Mertesacker, 29, a new contract to keep him at the Emirates for the next three years after impressing Arsene Wenger this season.
Full story: Sunday Mirror
Liverpool want to give manager Brendan Rodgers a new contract as the Merseyside club are wary of taking risks over his future. The Northern Irishman has two years left on his current deal but has admirers at Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Rodgers has admirers?
No, he doesn't.
Sign BFG asap, not that I think he'll be going anywhere at his age now.
Get Sagna and Rosicky signed as well. It's vital we keep these experienced players in the squad.
:gp:
Need to keep all the experienced players :coffee:
Michu wouldn't be a bad call, but I prefer Benteke, he's a really explosive striker.
A striker is a priority in Jan, Benteke/Suarez . I read that Suarez will stay until the end of the season though, so maybe even Chicharito if Moyes keeps benching him.
I'm not keen on Benteke.
Sign Thierry back in January.. he is having a good season this year!
Suarez isn't coming to Arsenal, there's no chance of that (and to be honest, I prefer it that way)...
I'm a little confident that Arsene may surprise us again in January, and I'm going to take a punt and suggest that it may be Lewandowski.
Outside of the Bundesliga, we are the best suited for him in my opinion. We have a world renowned Manager who speaks fluent German, have a good number of German & Polish Players (well a couple of Polish) and he will be fed by the best No 10 in the World.
Manchester United don't have the same appeal now, and look how they've wasted Kagawa (they've ruined him in my eyes).
Or Lewandowski can wait and move to the European and Bundesliga champions - the team he was desperate to move to this summer. I would love us to get him but I can't see it.
Wenger will certainly have his eyes open to Lewandowski as a player in the last 6 months of his contract on (relatively) low wages, but I don't think he will pull that one off I'm afraid.
That is a shame as I think some aggressive wheeling and dealing could scupper his path to Bayern.
I think he's made up his mind where he wants to go. The Ozil signing has a set a precedent that we're now after elite players, so if not him, then someone at that level. Not Benteke or Michu.
Nothing is done and dusted a year in advance in football.
All the evidence thus far points to Benteke being a top class premier league striker who will continue to score. Secretly I'd love Lukaku which is never going to happen but in terms of talent, determination, age, attitude, humility and all that other good stuff that could make an Arsenal legend, Lukaku is the proverbial pipe dream. And for good measure I think his attitude towards Chelsea is increasingly estranged.
Who do you think is of the quality of Lewandowski that might be available. Please don't include Suarez!
And RvP is a cut above Demba Ba but many gooners would happily have seen Ba back Giroud up. Suarez shouldn't even be an option period, in my view for all manner of reasons. Benzema and Mandzukic are not at the level Lewandowski is even if the former is similarly talented imho. Mandzukic is not even close to his level. Why Benzema would be even remotely available as the only recognised forward at Real is anybody's guess.
Unless Suarez's goal ratio is at least twice as good as Benteke's come the end of the season I'm not sure how Suarez can be several levels above.
The difference is, Mandzukic, Benzema and Suarez are all proven at the highest level, Benteke and Ba are living off one half decent season.
You're probably looking at £30m for Benteke. No way.
Benteke or Suarez. Benteke or Suarez. Benteke or Suarez. Benteke or Suarez. Benteke or Suarez.
Why not both?
GP is right here. You're a lot better of spending the extra 12 or so million on an actual proven class player instead of spending 30 million on someone on the rung just below whenever you can. It's much better value for money.
Take for example the Fellani vs Ozil transfers. Both went for approximate market value yet for approx 50% more than what Fellani went for, we got someone at least 3 times better. Unless you have a ridicolous Real/Bale situation there's usually a tailing of in the price vs quality curve once you go past 25 million these days. Players in the Soldado, Bentenke, Fellani are grossly overpriced for what they are - it's very reassuaring we and Wenger aren't going down the Liverpool, Spurs route of just stockpiling these sort of players anymore and instead hunting for actual quality. It's better business and it's also better from a footballing p.o.v.
Suarez should be the first target, Lewandowski if he's available though if Bayern are after him that's going to be very unlikely. If Liverpool falter away from their "title challenge" we can try again in January with hopefully him agitating for a move to a bigger team. Best of all, he won't be cup tied in Europe because Liverpool aren't in the thing this year.
Benteke is just Ba 2, good strikers, but not quite top level, would be good for depth, but not consistent starters at a club like Arsenal
Bentekkers is definitely better than Ba.
