I think you buy two drinks and offer one of them to the guy behind Song, then laugh at him for the duration.

I can confirm that, he's worth a quarter of it at best. But the PSG and Monaco set won't play unless they can pay several times over the odds.Quote:
Moreover I am increasingly suspecting Cavani is not worth 50 million or that sort of money
Certainly was for my cousin, but not for me.
When people say Cavani isn't worth £50m or Martinez isn't worth £30m or whatever, I can't understand how you make that judgement. We have no idea what's good value and bad value any more. Chelsea had started to ruin the curve and then these Monaco/PSG/Cavani-buying people have come along and wrecked it. Even the living stealing failure that is Ozil will seem like good value if we get a few more trophies in the next 5 years to add to the FA cup.
Think the likelihood of landing a biggie is dependent again on a slow start to the season and Cesc scoring a few for Chelsea. That'll create a toxic atmosphere in the home games that might be vital for us to throw some money around. And the big money signing might not be in the area we need. Could be another lightweight genius non-scorey no.10 for all we know. Just have to hope the deadline day options involve a few top players in limbo.
Hardly any of them are worth anything judging by this world cup. But true enough, transfer fees are now pick a number because there's no limit on what some clubs can throw about, despite the money grabbing efforts of UEFA. I really hope we don't lose to Crystal Palace, 4th place could come down to a single point this season so 3 points dropped in the opener, even if we do end up signing Kalou as a result, would be a blow. Although not as big a blow as signing Kalou.
I hope some trillionaire comes along and buys Crewe, signs up everybody and changes the name of the club to the Rolf Harris Thrusters. That would put where football and the transfer market is today in a proper context. Even so, our lot have hoarded a pile of cash so they better spend some of it. Or else I'm going to put up a very strongly worded post here on GW.
Cavani hasn't looked a 50 million quid player since he was at Napoli at any level.....international, Champions league or domestic. For that matter, once upon a time Schevchenko looked like a 50 million quid player in the Italian league but turns out he wasn't over here.
For almost 200 minutes now I have seen him stumble about the field against Kenneth Omeruo, Chelsea's academy 4th/5th choice CB and not get anywhere near scoring and though I have publicly said Omeruo is a good player, there have been far too many big games from him like this. Even out of the shadow of his royal highness Zlatan.
That being said, I'd still fancy having him, but breaking our transfer record, again, for this guy for that price is a seriously risky business and not a mistake a club like Arsenal can easily recover from as we are intent on running ourselves properly.
I'd sooner just sign Sanchez and Wilfried Bony for the same price.....and that is all in the unlikely occurrence that PSG would even sell Cavani for 50million!
We should offer PSG Diaby for £350mill. Obviously they are washing cash and they'd be safe with a deal for Diaby because nobody could say he wasn't worth it as he'd never play.
This Vermelean to United thing really has some legs to it. 12 million seems to be the latest offer.
Though I wouldn't be too gutted if we immediately reinvested that into Lovren as 3rd choice CB. Less injury prone and has been playing better the past few years.
We'd still need another CB on top of that though - I suppose we could just about scrape by with 3 again, but 4 would be better...
