Pointless stat though. If games were only 60 minutes long, what Liverpool do so late on in games would probably just happen earlier.

Could always play like a subbuteo table 4-4-2 with a long stick tied to the players moving side to side not allowed to move forward or back.

Not so sure thats the case. Half the reason Liverpool score late is that they wear the other team down. They stand firm for 85+ minutes and concede at the end. If games where only 60 minutes, much more likely that they dont tire and still hold firm for a point

It's not only about wearing down though, in the sense of stamina yielding. Teams will sit back right at the end trying to hang on for what they've got, that's going to be the case whenever the match is near ending.

Sporting wise if anything good comes out of this, it will be lower salaries all round in football, the amount of money we've seen in the game in recent times, with players who haven't even achieved anything getting paid big money and players get more and more per week as each year went by was ruining the game.

Hopefully we see this trend reverse, clubs will have less money and will need to make cuts where necessary, which can only be a good thing for the game.

I'm sure Arsenal will find a way to pay massive contracts to people like Ozil and sign losers like Mustafi for tens of millions of quid

They should get rid of VAR.

More problems than it's worth, also ruining the game. It probably caused this coronavirus too, so far I haven't seen a shred of proof to the contrary.

It would be like having Hleb back again.

Reading some reports yesterday saying that if the current bottom 3 dont vote for games a neutral venues, the league will just relegate them anyway.
