I despair at times, I really do. sigh. you pointed out his figures were distorted because they were scored in bursts, rather than being more valuable and spread over games. 11 goals in 9 games - instead of 11 in 4 for example. it's actually better ratio than theo. but then again, you hate him too, so what am i even doing this for.Quote:

The thing about the stats is they don't tell you where the chances were, how far from goal etc there's no context so they don't really give you a perfectly accurate picture of one players performance vs another.

The bit you picked up from a totally unrelated conversation was when comparing two players and in that scenario stats tell you f*ck all because it was about conversion rates and the stats never told you how far away from goal your effort's were etc or give you any context for the chances.
In the conversation we've been having where goals vs number of games the stats are basically the whole argument.
