Cancelo to City is confirmed for £60m.
That’s £140m they’ve spent this summer. Guardiola was right, they def couldn’t afford Maguire
Hopefully we can turf Mustafi but the fucker wants to stay and no one is interested anyway.
No issue with Luiz. He’s clearly a short term option as we can’t afford anyone younger and better for now.
I don’t think he’s any worse than what we currently have and in some ways he may even be better because he’s a ball playing CB, which fits into Emery’s style.
If the fee is reasonable then go for it.
With Tierney coming I guess that probably means Kola will be leaving, as Monreal will be one of the captains and only used as CB in a three, plus we just activated his one year extension. Although maybe Kola will go in January once Tierney is up to speed.
It’s all very much Emery’s team now - he has to make it count now.
Having Bellerin back and Tierney means our back 4 will be much better (and younger). It had been our problem for years and we have never fixed it properly. We need to build a team from the back and make sure we have a system for for the players we have.
David Luiz is a done deal according to some. Not the greatest or most reliable CBs but an upgrade on Mustafi and brings a calmness and experience. His range of passing is exceptional.
