This, and was it not worrying when he came on, on Sunday, seemed like he could be a real week link, he needs to come on earlier tbh.
IMO he like Gibbs are not LB's but LM's and it shows.
I think it's one of those lazy assertions that he can't defend. Probably because he's brazillian.
He was great against city,
Yeah, he can defend - as well as Sagna? Probably not, but he's not bad. I'd say he definitely has the edge over Gibbs.
Hard to tell in the Man City game because he was probably spent more time at CM than at LB, such was Arsenal's dominance in the game.
Going to this.
My brummie based mate has hooked me up.
Gibbs is out injured :rose:
Wenger confirms Santos will start.
Szczesny, Vermaelen, Djourou and Santos in the back 5...hmm...all of them seem to like attacking more than defending (with the exception of Djourou, who is garbage this year). All down to Sagna
Santos sums up 'attack is the best form of defence'.
If his pressing and transformation into second striker midway through a game works, it helps us dominate. If it doesn't, then we're in trouble. We're usually in trouble through a few brain-dead moments anyway, so Santos going apeshit on the left is kind of welcome.
I did like his WUMing of Balotelli, even though he clearly fouled him which made it even more, err, WUMier.
Santos looks like he needs a run of games to look competent. Or maybe that's just because he used to be quite fat. The Chelsea game was probably the funniest individual performance of the season. But yeah, hopefully now his fitness is better he will perform better from the off. He should have a few chances to be Ronaldinho tomorrow anyway.
