Are we deliberating ove the kind of losing football we want in to play? :d
Klopp has a lot of Wengers failings tactically, but he's younger, hungrier and more of a man motivator
I think this Liverpool side is absolute wank, they've done well to even be contenders for top four.
Part of that is down to Klopps signings, Mane aside most of his signings have been shit
Liverpool losing is bad news for us, they tend to play better in the next match after losing, as if they have something to prove. Best we'll get is a point over there I reckon.
Agree with NQ, Klopp hasn't got it right with Liverpool yet though there are signs of improvement, but their football is light years away from ours, so at least Liverpool fans are being entertained.
Wouldn't be my 1st choice, but would take him in a heartbeat over Venga, is he another bargain basement manager though who won't sign top players because he wants to develop them, not sure how I feel about that, it's fine to do that but you also need to sign proven quality. If I was him I would have raided Dortmund for players, the reason he didn't was out of loyalty to them I think.
Klopp is much more honest than Wenger though, says it how it is, doesn't defend the players or performances or blame other factors, he accepts his team don't perform when they don't, much prefer him to Venga, Venga could learn some lessons from this guy.
WUMing
It's no wumming
Well, you either believe it in which case you're stupid or you don't in which case you're WUMming.
You tell me
Neither, it's not as black and white as you like to think it is.
Based on the sh*tfest he's laid on this season, I don't think he deserves it, I don't think the points total always paints an accurate picture of how good a team is personally, sometimes circumstances intervene.
Unless we finished lower down of course in which case you'd say it does accurately reflect things. Goalposts...
There is some truth in what you say of course, we were lucky to finish 2nd last year but top 4 was never seriously in doubt last year or the year before and you don't finish in the top few for a million years in a row by luck as you well know.
I never said it was just luck, what I did say is that he fortune does seem to favour him somewhat when there's a dogfight for top 4, even if we have been awful for almost all of the season, we do seem to get results despite performing pretty poorly, this season being an example. Liverpool on the other hand are great one minute and poor the next, we don't ever seem to be great at the moment.
Well teams that become champions get the kind of results when not playing well
Makes you wonder how we might do if the pressure to win the title was as intense as the pressure to win top four....i think you notice that when top four is in danger we tend not to concede as many goals, if we play a top side we will draw or fluke a win.
Lester in talks with Woy Hodgson
I'd agree with that first part. They are both too stubborn, tend to double down on their ideas when they don't work and are therefore too late to change things. As for the football we play, yeah it's great when it works but there's no middle ground as when it doesn't work, it really doesn't work.
Though I'd disagree that his signings have been poor. Mane, obviously, Matip is a very good player the problem is that he's been partnered with Lovren and Lucas who are either inconsistent or finished, Wijnaldum has been surprisingly good working well when partnered with Lallana and Henderson. And whilst the jury is still very much out on Karius, he was by all accounts doing very well in Germany and it's not like we have a great track record of developing goalies in recent years. His other buys have either been youth or backups. Our problems have either been not using the players we have like Sakho. Despite looking like Bambi on acid he's far better than people give him credit for. And as much as he's supposedly a bad influence, there comes a point where you're just cutting off your nose to spite your face making a point. We haven't signed the right positions i.e. left back and for my money an out and out striker; Firmino and Origi work hard but not clinical finishers.
Even when we couldn't win to save our lives, we were creating chances that top strikers, or even decent strikers in form would finish, including numerous sitters inside the 6 yard box.
But that comes down to whether it's Klopp only wanting to sign particular players he can't get now, or if we simply don't have the funds to get them. Either way, if in September we still have Milner at left back, something isn't right. For some reason we're still being linked with 1001 attacking mids, the one position we don't need, which either means Coutinho is off or we're playing one weird formation next season.
Speaking of Liverpool FC, i was genuinely unaware until yesterday that Gerry Marsden's "You'll never walk alone" was taken from a rodgers and hammerstein musical, i know he didn't write the song himself but had never really known the origin of it.
