I wonder what the thinking is behind Rangers going for Gerrard as manager? They probably thought "right, if anyone can stop Rodgers winning the league, its Gerrard, hes already done it once.
I think it's just because he's a big name, he may help attract some bigger names to the club to play for him. Plus it'll generally expand the status of Rangers which it needs after several barren years in the lower leagues.Quote:

tbh I rate Butland though but 35 million is way over priced considering there's a good chance he's going to get relegated.
Reckon he'll want to get out of Stoke and we could get him for 20 million provided there's no competition.
Pickford was £25m rising to £30m from a relegated team, and that was before fees went even more mental this season, and Butland is the more established of the two, or at least was when he joined Everton.
Always hesitate when buying defensive players, especially goalies from shit teams though.
