Smalling or Jones if Vermaelen goes...

I really rate Jones and think if he can just get beyond injuries and stay in a settled position he will be a great player.

I honestly don't think we are the right club to develop him. I also see potential but not sure he will fulfill it if he came here.

Jones is a lumbering oaf who, just like an oaf, throws himself all over the pitch picking up the weirdest injuries. Nothing remotely special about him.

Besides, didn't we match the mancs' offer for him and Smalling only to be snubbed by both of them.

I knew he'd be off this season. Ryo has to be next if we can find him a club. Same goes for Coquelin and lord only knows what's going on with Wellington Silva. I hope the new youth coaches have more direction and success with who they bring through. Most of the kids we bring over from other academies end up staying in the reserves then moved on. If they're not ready to sit on the bench the first team, like Ox and Walcott, they're moved on.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not banking on it happening, as much as I'd like it to. I just don't think it's one of the things you can specifically :pal: at RAWK/Scousers for when every team in the country says the same thing. Especially when there are many many many many many many many things you could.
